Congratulations to Brent on his fine editorial in the N&O today. He espouses the truth that 'special' wording used in legislation to call out various minority groups only helps foster the belief that they are somehow different and should be treated differently instead of bolstering the fact that we should all be treated equally.

Brent - that was a very well written letter with a most excellent argument. However, your letter had one major problem, in that it had too many multi-syllable words. Most of the Raleigh City Council members may have trouble understanding your letter. That is why the N&O keeps most of its articles written on a 8th grade level.

Two Thumbs Up!

Thanks, Wuptdo. But many of the big words were just quotations from the newspaper itself. Of course, the amazing thing is that I was able to stay within the N&O's word limit. :)

Mr. Brent Miller has hit pay dirt this week. One letter in the N&O and another fine written letter in the Cary News. The topic in this weeks Cary News was Cary impact fees and a rebuttal to a letter from the previous week. Unlike other letters in the Impact Fee thread, Brent didn't have to wear "waders" this time! Two Thumbs Up!

...and it was a pleasure to quote from your previous letter, Wuptdo!

There was also a good letter about the North Cary Waste Treatment plant odor (let's see how the 5-star hotel guests like that!).

The "Darryl thread" about partisan politics didn't continue this week, but I'm not holding my breath yet, and I AM putting on my waders, just in case...
