(See related post about whether or not to invite the press to our meetings).

Don Hyatt has set up this forum as a private forum, just for members of this citizens budget review committee (i.e., participation is by invitation only).

As noted in the related post, we need to decide whether or not to include the press in our dicsussions (the other post deals with our meetings).

We also need to decide whether or not to invite the press to participate in this forum, where I expect a lot of discussion will take place.

My initial thought is "no", because I expect that there will be a lot of unstructured discussion on this forum that may not make for good news articles. As noted in the related post, I do think that inviting the press to meetings where we start bringing clarity to various issues might be a good idea.

Anyway, please post your thoughts and vote in the poll.

I agree that we should not include the press in the discussions. We can promise to give 'the press' regular press releases.

Write this down, folks...that's a sentence you won't see all that often! (yes, it's just a joke!).
