John Harvilla Jr. (R) will be filing against Jack Smith (District 'C')

Tom McCuiston (R) & Ed Yerha (UNA - though really a DEM) may both be filing against Jennifer Robinson (District 'A')

Mike Curran (R) will probably be filing against Julie Robison (at-large)

Mike Curran has been in & out a couple of times so we don't know for sure.

Tom McCuiston ran against Jennifer in '01 and has been very busy with a growing law firm so he's still up in the air.

Ed Yerha is leaning towards running but nothing definitive yet.

So I haven't lived here very long and while I recognize some of the names (you guys have mentioned them here on CP) I'm not really familiar with these people.

Would someone mind giving me (and other CP readers who aren't in the know on these guys) the run down on who these guys are?

TIA. ;)

John Harvilla - Newcomer to local politics, some involvement with State GOP (I'll post more details as I get them)

Tom McCuiston - Lead attorney of a fast growing local law firm. Ran in '01 for District 'A' in a 3-way race with Jennifer Robinson & Jess Ward (all Republicans) Bio can be found here:

Ed Yerha - former 2-term P&Z board chairman, well liked and balanced, considered by many to be the best P&Z chairman ever, works for IBM in finance
Interesting article on Ed by Adam Arnold can be found here:

John Harvilla - also the Director of Corporate Purchasing for PBM Graphics and I believe one of the Executive Committee Members for NCGOP.

Ed Yerha - GREAT Man. Honest. LOADS of integrity - Professional and kind...almost to a fault. One of the first people I met in local politics that treated me with respect.....at a time when I probably didn't deserve much. ;-) A man I will always respect and look up to....regardless of party affiliation.

I even remember refering to Ed Yerha in our candidates forum a couple years ago - the question was regarding our towns boards and commissions and although I did answer the question ;-), I really remember speaking about Ed instead......again, GREAT MAN.

Ok Folks, only one day left. It's getting down to the wire and curious minds want to know "who is going to run for what!" Any dark horses or shinning knights going to show up? Who will know....
