Me. While I will not file and if elected I will not serve, a johnb write in candidacy will surely win in each race.

Actually, under NC law, you could get 51% of votes as a write-in and, unless you filed the necessary petition ahead of time, they'd all be thrown out. Write-in votes aren't even tallied unless a certain # of signatures are gathered on the appropriate petition ahead of time.

That's bad news Johnb  , because I had huge hopes for a Johnb candidacy :D . I was actually going to apply for the position of campaign manager B-) on your staff. Now I'm forced to cancel my planned trip to Cary in search of a house next to the Cary WTF :x . I think Jennifer Robinson's breathing a sigh of relief right about now, what do you think? :-D

Me too. I got promised a two-week trip to Mexico by johnb's wife if we got him to run for office.

Just the same, I may have to make a special trip back to Cary this October to cast my vote for johnb  .

Hyatt, what is the point of this hypothetical stuff? Although a few of these have some relationship to reality, most don't. I don't get the coupling of the descriptions you've chosen with party labels.

I'll add some names after the filing period ends. It will make a lot more sense then :-)
