Bobo, you know you can watch it on "The Cary Channel" on Time-Warner cable. Or stop by and join the party in person!
What I found interesting:
- Frantz Automotive redevelopment passed (on consent agenda). Way to go Don!
- Trinity Ridge passed 6-1, in spite of valid protest petitions and in spite of the P&Z recommendation to deny. I find it fascinating that certain people continue to tick off large groups of involved and organized citizens. Oh, well, their loss. [edited to add: by "their" I mean those people who continue to tick off large groups of involved and organized citizens...not the citizens]
- The mayor kindly recognized several of my Boy Scouts at the beginning of the meeting. :-D

Brent,
I stopped watching right about then. (Had to get the kiddies to bed). :D
What were the main points to approve despite of the valid protest, and the P&Z recommentation to deny???

Kelly is correct.
Karen: Nels offered the most thorough explanation, which I will paraphrase as boiling down to "This is WAY better than the original proposal we saw a few months ago, and the developer has made concessions such that all the issues that had been identifed are resolved to my satisfaction" [edited to add: Oh, and I forgot the ever-popular "Plus, a lot of other worse things could be built there, you know!", in this case, alluding to an unrealistic possibility that it could otherwise be "office towers" ]. Marla pointed out that the major issue for her was two access points, and that had been taken care of. There was also some discussion about how the developer would guarantee that the buffers would remain intact, given that they are "easements" instead of "buffers" (apparently the town enforces "buffers" but not "easements" ). The answer was that the developer would force the HOA to have rules to keep the "easements" intact. Apparently no one bothered to consider that HOAs can change their own rules...
