** PRESS RELEASE **

Ed Yerha To Run for Cary Town Council

Cary, NC, August 1, 2005 – Ed Yerha today announced his candidacy for the District A seat on the Cary Town Council.

“I have served Cary for many years, and I believe that the best way to continue that service is in elected office”, Yerha said, describing his reasons for running. “Cary citizens need an approachable advocate representing them on the Cary Town Council, and I look forward to the opportunity to fill that role.”

Yerha served on Cary's Planning and Zoning Board for 6 years, including 4 years as Chairman, and currently serves on Cary's Sister Cities Commission. After a 31-year career with IBM in finance, administration and management, Ed is now employed as a senior analyst with Lenovo (US) Inc.

“Cary will continue to face many challenges, including growth, increasing costs and the need for regional cooperation. I want Cary’s residents to feel empowered to help shape our town’s future and I will work to ensure that our local government is responsive to its citizens. I am proud to have lived in Cary for the last 10 years, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the people of District A and all of Cary, ensuring that their voices are heard loud and clear”, Ed Yerha said.

John, I can pretty much guarantee that that won't be the case.

I think you will find that as the various candidates' Web sites are publicized, the most common theme will be <name>forcary.org (or .com). That's just plain easy to remember.

That does not mean that every candidate will use this as his/her theme on candidate collateral.

Doesn't working for a "foreign" firm preclude him from running for public office?

And will he rent that billboard over on Hwy 54?

I remember a candidate from years ago that had his mug shot on that billboard. :D

Wuptdo B-)
