It's been 24 hours and still no response from Democratic City Council members Julie Robison or Nels Roseland.
I did send the following email directly to Karl last night as well. He won't respond either and the offending posts are still upon the WCDP's official web page. The sad thing is that the general population is in the after effects of a major political realignment. Behavior such as Karl's pushes more people away from the Democrats. While I find the national Democratic Party politically repulsive in it's platform and methods the last thing I care to see in NC or any state is a one party monopoly. That is the breeding ground of corruption and arrogance. Keep alienating large blocks of the electorate and you're gonna keep loosing elections. This is not a mystery. The Florida Democratic Party is in trouble with the IRS for not submitting the taxes it witheld from its workers last election cycle. They're in debt 1/2 million bucks. Across the South the partys condition is rapidly deteriorating, the last thing the Democrats need is their own county chairman throwing gasoline on the fire. In NC we are unique in the South in that the Democrats here have held on several election cycles after the Democrats in FLA, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, et al imploded.

I came across your commentary on the wakedems.org web
page and felt compelled to write the two Democrats on
the Cary city council. The email I sent them follows.
It is ashame you've take the time and energy to be a
hatemonger and use your position as a means to sow
division and discord. I'm not sure why you would
expect any Evangelical Christian to vote for any of
your candidates after reading your hate based
diatribes. Are you sure religious bigotry is the
primary value you wish your local party to be known
for? People like you are why Bush was elected then
re-elected.

Well, it seems that aside from Harold's quick disavowal and Julie's 75 hour delayed reaction no other Democrat sees fit to separate themselves from Keith Karlsson's hate speech.
If I were running against a Democrat this year I'd have a flyer with that lack of response or that incredibly late response all over it.
If I were Nels future opponent I'd make sure I kept this. Failure to speak out against hate speech from one's own party leader is a character defect in a politician. ;)
