Latest mailers from the Curran campaign... Note first is from state level Republican Executive Committee and 2nd has a solid endorsement from Mayor McAlister. I suppose he has a little politicial capital to burn ;-)

Somehow it just doesn't seem right for Ernie to be so involved in anyone's campaign for a Council seat.

I suppose it's Ernie's choice, but an endorsement by a sitting mayor is a double-edged sword for both the endorser and endorsee.

Did anyone notice that the first of the two mailers here came from the Party, not from Curran's committee? Although it looks just like all of Curran's (and others') mailers. I'm not implying that this means anything at all, it's just an observation.

Ernie's endorsement of Curran is both traditional and totally appropriate...and still another reason I will vote against Curran.

And if I were Ernie, I would have mixed emotions about Curran. If the ulta-conservative powers within the party can so easily dump Jack and Jennifer, they can do so again in two years when its Ernie's turn in the barrel.

Given Curran's endorsements by the developers and the anti- public school folks, he is clearly the fair-haired boy of the right wing of the Republican Party and the good ole boy network that really is the power behind the throne in Cary.

Agreed, Stan. I think I said elsewhere that Ernie should beware of Curran on Council, assuming Ernie wants another term.
