Marcia dragged me to see this old chestnut. A romance set in 18th century England. Suprisingly, I loved it! The scenery and photography alone was worth the price of admission. The young actresses were stunningly beautiful. Brenda Blythyn, who pay the hysterical mother trying to marry off her daughters was a riot. Donald Sutherland as the father and the male boyfriends more than held their own. Judy Dench was her imperial self as a rich b**ch trying to break up her nephews romance.
And I could relate to the problems in the romantic relationships of the young, as my grandchildren are experiencing the same problems today.
This film will be up for Academy Awards.
