TRAFFICE ALERT: Piney Plains Road

Expect delays through this evening in Cary as Piney Plains Road is reduced to one lane traffic in each direction for roadway improvement construction. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.

(end)

Let's see...

- They can't spell "traffic"
- They tell us to use alternate routes, but don't suggest what those might be
- And best/worst of all, the e-mail alert, which warns of traffic delays "this evening" was sent just before 8:00 p.m.

Thanks for the helpful information, Susan!

It occurs to me that it would be easier for staff (and after all, much of what occurs in Cary is designed to be easier for staff anyway) to just issue these e-mail alerts all the time, maybe even every day. They would be just as helpful as the one cited above, and it would be easier for staff.

I'm thinking of something like this:

Town of Cary should write:

TRAFFICE ALLERRT: Cary Roads

Expect delays through this morning, afternoon, evening, mid-morning, late afternoon, mid-early evening and pretty much throughout the entire 24-hour period (but never at dusk!!) in Cary as the mayor and his minions continue their irresponsible growth policies, with Cary's population skyrocketing with very little roadway improvement construction. Drivers are encouraged to just put up with it and should be advised that it's going to get even worse, but development profits are at stake here and without exorbitant profits, campaign contributions could decrease. There are no alternate routes; every road is clogged because of the "profit before people" policy. We figure you're so desparate at this point that you'll accept a toll road, which is all you're going to get.
