Brent has a column with photo in today's Cary News in response to the mayor's column from last week. (I know this is mentioned elsewhere on CP.)

I wonder if Susan Mor..., whoops I mean Mayor Ernie has already written a rebuttal to Brent's column. Will he/she "bleeettcchh slap" Brent like they did Harold a while back? Or will another council member step up to the plate and sign their name to the rebuttal column?
Good letter Brent. I am with you 75% of the way. (SRO's should be a county issue, not a city one).
You keep fighting the town, I will keep on the bigger "problem," the WCPSS and illegal aliens.
Windmills, ho!

I think you hit the nail on the head:
I wouldn't be surprised to see a staff-written response signed by the mayor or a "friend of the mayor". Based on history, it is likely to be an "attack the messenger" and "blame everyone else" response.

Thanks...and I don't entirely disagree...APFs need to be county-wide also. But someone has to take the lead. Why not Cary? Instead, too many of our elected officials just use "Not our job" as an excuse.

Indeed! HO!
(BTW, I have it on good authority that council has already received "Actions Speak Louder than Words" e-mail. CPers, be sure to get yours in today!)
