Every day, a male co-worker walks up very close to a lady standing at
the coffee machine, inhales a big breath of air and tells her that her
hair smells nice.
After a week of this, she can't stand it anymore, takes her complaint to
a supervisor in the personnel department and states that she wants to
write a sexual harassment grievance against him.
The Human Resources supervisor is puzzled by this decision and asks,
"What's sexually threatening about a co-worker telling you your hair
smells nice?"
The woman replies, "It's Daryl, the midget."

Then she should get whatever shampoo you use to get "Campers hair", and drive the guy out of the building. Problem solved! :? (Oh, and by the way, that would be my OTHER brother Daryl!!!!)

I would say I wake up feeling sunny and bright but just seeing your name when I log onto CP makes me cold, scared and the world turns dark.
Let me refresh your memory of the Sacred Goddess, btw.
from The Da Vinci Code:
"The Grail is literally the ancient symbol for womanhood, and the Holy Grail represents the sacred feminine and the goddess, which of course has now been lost, virtually eliminated by the hurch. The power of teh deamle and her ability to produce life was once very sacred, but it posed a threat to the rise of the predominantly male church, and so the sacred feminine was demonized and called unclean. It was man, not God who created the concept of original sin,' whereby Eve tasted the apple and caused teh downfall of the human race. Woman, once the sacred giver of life was now the enemy."
PMS is essential to giving life. Your mother gave you life.
I learned long ago not to argue with a women....especially if she admits to having PMS! In this state....who knows...she might even carry a hand gun! Besides, there is two rules. The first rule is that the woman is alway right and the second rule is if the women is wrong, refer to rule # 1!
And if all this fails, I go back to the very true story below...unless of course someone enjoys being a right hand man most of their life!
And in the end remember this, she is either going to win or take your all your strength and money.....Thems are just the facts of life!...and if your to blind to see it...well don't say you were not told! And remember, even Sampson learned the hard way!
A young couple was having bad fight after their recent marriage.
It was the worst disagreement they had to date.
They fought all day and right up until it was time to go to bed.
As they both went into the bedroom the husband had a plan.
As he took off his blue jeans, he said to his wife, “take these and put them on!”
She just looked at him with a frown
“Put ‘um on!” he screamed as he pointed at his blue jeans
Reluctantly, his wife did as he requested
As she got them on she looked over at him and said “These are way too big for me!”
“That’s right” exclaimed her husband “Don’t you ever forget who wears the pants in this family!”
As she took them off she sat down on the bed and removed her panties.
“Here, put these on” she said throwing her panties at him
“What?” her husband asked with a puzzled tone in his voice
“Put on my panties” snapped he wife “ I put on your jeans, now you put on my panties”
He took them and started to put them on. He could only get them up to his knees
“Hell, I can’t even get into these” he said with disgust
“That right” she said “and if you keep treating me this way you never will!”

In suport of your Female Goddess crap, I've got a web article that was put out by NOW. You should really love this!
A rallying cry for FAT UGLY WOMEN!
NOW wants more fat ugly women on TV
Ravenwood - 10/30/02 05:03 PM
The National Organization for Women (NOW) is pushing for more fat, ugly women on TV. Their 2002 Feminist Primetime Report is bitching and moaning that over the air networks are featuring 134 more men than women, and that the women are mostly nothing more than eye-candy. [A quick look at the report shows that the variance for last season is 134 out of 688 (40/60 split), and this season is 125 out of 677 (41/59).]
The NOW report also states that:
We all know that women come in many shapes, sizes, ages and colors. In an extremely informal count, however, we found 140 women on TV who were model-thin and conventionally beautiful, versus just 31 women who appeared to wear a size 10 or larger.
It then goes on to unceremoniously list the fat people who are the "exception" to the "Jennifer Aniston Rule".
Lesley Boone (Molly) on Ed, Tyne Daly (Maxine) on Judging Amy, Loretta Devine (Marla) on Boston Public, Camryn Manheim (Ellenor) on The Practice, Melissa McCarthy (Sookie) on Gilmore Girls, Della Reese (Tess) on Touched By an Angel, and Countess Vaughn (Kim) and Mo'Nique (Nikki) on The Parkers.
There is little mention of how the standards were set up to figure out who makes the fat-cow list and who doesn't. I also didn't see any way for actresses to appeal their banishment to the list.
Staff writers at Ravenwood's Universe are skeptical at best. NOW wins the No **** Sherlock Award by listing shows like UPN's "WWE Smackdown" as examples of the worst offenders, pointing out that there are more male 'superstars' than females. Meanwhile the cancelled "Ellen Show", "Girlfriends", and "Judging Amy" get the top nods for 'gender fairness'. Who the hell watches that crap?!
What NOW doesn't understand is that networks see only the color and shape of the almighty dollar. Their whole purpose in life is to make money for their shareholders. They do that by picking up TV shows that people will actually watch. Big surprise: People want to see good-looking people on TV.
NOW also makes this brilliant statement:
TV has the power to bring people together, to show viewers a full picture of our society.
[******** Alert] Nobody wants to watch regular slobs sitting around living normal life. "Big Brother" ratings prove that. Why fill the air waves with boring everyday crap, when most people already get that at home? What would be the point of watching TV?
NOW also rates programs on "social responsibility," but since they give no quantitative criteria for that category, I'm going to ignore it.
They also misplace responsibility for the quality of TV programing by claiming that networks must be held "accountable to all the viewers who ultimately make them rich." Clearly they are only responding to what the viewers watch. NOW even admits that 40% of their 'favorable' shows were cancelled last year. If viewers were watching them, they'd still be around.
The bottom line is that TV shows are no different than commercials. Ask any advertising agent and they'll tell you that sex sells. "Friends" most certainly would not have been a hit show with six overweight slobs laying around some oversized NYC apartment.
Putting fat, ugly, cows on TV will only make people change the channel. Or worse, perhaps they'll turn it off and actually read something.

Your postings have become not so much a train wreck as dog poo on the sidewalk that has to be avoided.
Whatever you want to call it and however you want to spin it, I am sure I am not the only one who grows tired of the constant "You're a big doodie head - and here as a big cut and paste to say why." "No - you are a bigger doodie head - and here is my big cut and paste to say why."
It may have been entertaining the first 500 times, but it passed well beyond that point. When EVERYONE already knows what you are going to say before you say it, it becomes pointless.

David,
I'm not sure about this. While D and D have certainly both crossed the line at times into the personal, they both make plenty of intelligent, well-thought out contributions to the discussion.
Dharma makes a good point. This thread has had well over 200 hits, and more votes in the poll than I've seen on any other CP poll--and the results are running in their favor. Clearly, there is some interest.
Do their tirades grow tiring at times? Sure--and I think they both acknowledge that.
I think they both offer more to CP than their on-going feud.

I don't think anybody on CP is a flame troll, David. We are all passionate about the issues at hand. Again, Daryl and I may despise each other but I respect his right to argue the point. Isn't that what makes this message board successful? If we all agreed, it would be pretty boring and no one would post.
Your postings have become not so much a train wreck as dog poo on the sidewalk that has to be avoided.
Well, I see you're back for a second time when this is a thread that you can completely avoid. :-D
Whatever you want to call it and however you want to spin it, I am sure I am not the only one who grows tired of the constant "You're a big doodie head - and here as a big cut and paste to say why." "No - you are a bigger doodie head - and here is my big cut and paste to say why."
You're exactly right again. However, you have a choice here. And that choice is to avoid the thread that says "Dharma vs. Daryl" because you've previously established your distaste for our arguments. As for other threads, you probably haven't noticed that for nearly 3 weeks I went out of my way to NOT RESPOND to Daryl.
It may have been entertaining the first 500 times, but it passed well beyond that point. When EVERYONE already knows what you are going to say before you say it, it becomes pointless.
I guess you could say that about anybody who has been a member for more than a week. Rarely am I surprised at how anybody reponds. (I say "rarely" because Bobo's ANWAR post yesterday BLEW ME AWAY). Even having forknowledge of what someone will I say, I always learn something from every post. Even Daryl's.

It isn't the best news I've had in a while for you David, but it seems that human nature LOVES a flame troll, which I've come to conclude is exactly why the News and Observer sells papers.... and if our dialogue has truly become "dog poo on the sidewalk", then perhaps you can just think of D and D as your and my very own personal political "DOG PARK". :dog: And if you don't like it, then "You're a big doodie head ...."

We are not alone! Here's a guy who went to great lengths to express his views on "the Goddess":
KATHMANDU (Reuters) - The head of the Nepal Mountaineering Association urged the government Saturday to take action against a sherpa who reportedly stripped on top of Mount Everest.
The Himalayan Times had reported Friday that the Nepali climbing guide, whose name it gave as Lakpa Tharke, stood naked for three minutes in freezing conditions on the 29,035-foot summit of the world's highest peak.
If confirmed, he would be the first person known to have stripped atop Everest, considered by Nepali Buddhists as a god.
Ang Tshering Sherpa, head of Nepal's top mountaineering body, said he could not confirm that the incident had happened.
"But if he did it, it is very shocking because Sagarmatha is the goddess mother," he said, using the mountain's Nepali name.
"The government must enforce strict ethics for climbing."
Authorities have yet to comment.
But the climb's organizers seemed happy enough with Lakpa Thaeke's strip.
"We are planning to file his extraordinary feat for the Guinness Book of World Records," the paper quoted an official of the hiking group that employs Tharke as saying.
At least 1,345 people have climbed Everest since 1953 from either the Nepali or Tibetan side

A golden oldie especially for those on CP.
A-HUGGIN' AND A-CHALKIN'
by Clancy Hayes and Kermit Goell
I gotta gal that's mighty sweet,
With big blue eyes and tiny feet.
Her name is Rosabelle Magee,
And she tips the scale at three-o-three,
Oh!
Gee but ain't it grand to have a girl so big and fat
That when you go to hug 'er
You don't know where you're at, you
Have to take a piece of chalk in your hand
And hug a way and chalk a mark to see where you began.
One day -
I was a huggin' and a chalkin'
And a chalkin' and a huggin' away
When I met another fella with some chalk in his hand
Comin' around the other way 'round the mountain,
Comin' around the other way. (It was Daryl)
Nobody ever said I'm weak,
My bones don't ache and my joints don't creak.
But I grow absolutely limp,
Ev'ry time I kiss my baby blimp,
Oh!
Gee but ain't it grand to have a girl so big and fat
That when you go to hug 'er
You don't know where you're at, you
Have to take a piece of chalk in your hand
And hug a way and chalk a mark to see where you began.
One day -
I had a yen for someone leaner,
She was meaner than a mink in a pen.
So I left her, now I'm happy as a fella could be
Huggin' and chalkin' once again 'round my Rosie,
Huggin' and chalkin' once again.
Oh!
Gee but ain't it grand to have a girl so big and fat
That when you go to hug 'er
You don't know where you're at, you
Have to take a piece of chalk in your hand
And hug a way and chalk a mark to see where you began.
One day -
I was a huggin' and a chalkin'
And a beggin' her to be my bride
When I met another fella with some chalk in his hand
Comin' around the other side 'round the mountain,
Comin' around the other side.

i’m through with doubt
there’s nothing left for me to figure out

and i’ll keep paying
i’m not ready to make nice
i’m not ready to back down
i’m still mad as hell and
i don’t have time to go round and round and round
it’s too late to make it right
i probably wouldn’t if i could
‘cause i’m mad as hell
can’t bring myself to do what it is you think i should
i know you said
can’t you just get over it
it turned my whole world around
and i kind of like it
i made my bed and i sleep like a baby
with no regrets and i don’t mind sayin’
it’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
and how in the world can the words that i said
send somebody so over the edge
that they’d write me a letter
sayin’ that i better shut up and sing
or my life will be over
i’m not ready to make nice
i’m not ready to back down
i’m still mad as hell and
i don’t have time to go round and round and round
it’s too late to make it right

Batwoman is back as a lesbian http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i175/onedharma/batwoman.jpg
NEW YORK - Years after she first emerged from the Batcave, Batwoman is coming out of the closet. DC Comics is resurrecting the classic comic book character as a lesbian, unveiling the new Batwoman in July as part of an ongoing weekly series that began this year.
The 5-foot-10 superhero comes with flowing red hair, knee-high red boots with spiked heels, and a form-fitting black outfit.
"We decided to give her a different point of view," explained Dan DiDio, vice president and executive editor at DC. "We wanted to make her a more unique personality than others in the Bat-family. That's one of the reasons we went in this direction."
The original Batwoman was started in 1956, and killed off in 1979. The new character will share the same name as her original alter ego, Kathy Kane. And the new Batwoman arrives with ties to others in the Gotham City world.
"She's a socialite from Gotham high society," DiDio said. "She has some past connection with Bruce Wayne. And she's also had a past love affair with one of our lead characters, Renee Montoya."
Montoya, in the "52" comic book series, is a former police detective. Wayne, of course, is Batman's true identity — but he has disappeared, along with Superman and Wonder Woman, leaving Gotham a more dangerous place.
The "52" series is a collaboration of four acclaimed writers, with one episode per week for one year. The comics will introduce other diverse characters as the story plays out.
"This is not just about having a gay character," DiDio said. "We're trying for overall diversity in the DC universe. We have strong African-American, Hispanic and Asian characters. We're trying to get a better cross-section of our readership and the world. Besides, Kane went out with Daryl Baker of Cary, NC once. After that date, she swore off men completely. Kane says Baker not only smelled like an ape, his small penis was hairy".
The outing of Batwoman created a furor of opinions on Web sites devoted to DC Comics. Opinions ranged from outrage to approval. Others took a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the announcement.
"Wouldn't ugly people as heroes be more groundbreaking?" asked one poster. "You know, 200-pound woman, man with horseshoe hair loss pattern, people with cold sores, Daryl Baker - man with small hairy penis...etc.?"
DiDio asked that people wait until the new Batwoman's appearance in the series before they pass judgment.
"You know what? Judge us by the story and character we create," he said. "We are confident that we are telling a great story with a strong, complex character."
DiDio spent most of the morning fielding phone calls from media intrigued by the Batwoman reinvention.
"It's kind of weird," he said. "We had a feeling it would attract some attention, but we're a little surprised it did this much."

It seems the images that Daryl is pointing to are somewhat transient in nature. I can turn on a feature that will allow uploading of images to CP, thus guaranteeing (more or less) that they will always be around. It's a little risky because be I would lose the "probable deniabilty" option for pictures that cross my threshold of tolerance (and believe me baby, a lesbian batwoman is right at the edge) but I'm willing to give it a try. I'll let everyone know once it's tested and availalbe.

I think you should leave it as is. The images that Daryl is posting are about out of control and on the edge of crude. SOme poeple have difficulty knowing where the line is, and what to not cross. I hate to see the CP board spiral out of control.
At one time people on councils and commissions cruised the board trying to get a pulse of the community. As this crap continues to be posted it only serves to drag the board down even lower. It continues down a path of no longer being a source of credible information. I actually find myself looking forward to posts about New Hill (who would have ever thought I would said that) and posts from Brent and Stan. The key to those posts is that they are well thought out and challenging, about events impacting many people without personally attacking anyone on this site.
Hyatt has (wrongly)suffered enough politically because of this board. But I am sure for him the end justified the suffering. Continuing these insults and barbs on this site, will just make his suffering for nothing. Daryl is free to continue to embarrass himself on this thread, and hopefully the snotty nastiness will remain here, however I would hate to see it spill over into other threads where intelligenent debate continues.

Amen, Kelly.
Don - I'd leave the picture posting / linking as is. Since many on the board do not get the difference between "public domain" and "copyrighted material", you would be better served to NOT directly host copyright violations directly on your site. It will give you a slightly better leg to stand on if someone gets around to suing you.

You'd like us all to think alike, but that's the key to politics, there are a lot of different options to every problem, and shutting the new ones down always seems to be the first option offered! We don't all see the world the same way....

Actually the thread probably belongs in the humor section as it really has nothing to do with national political issues. There is nothing wrong with unbridled passion. Unfortunately the nastiness continues in to nearly every thread.

Now, if we are talking about copyrighted pictures, that's a whole different ballgame. But if it's simply a matter of the picture being "objectionable" or "obscene", that's up to the individual to decide. No one has attempted to shut you down. What has been pointed out to you by several posters on this board is that in the end the nastiness of your posts degrades the points you are trying to make. Some of them are very good points, but as you continue down the road attempting to swing your big stick at everyone who disagrees with you, your points get lost.

I would LOVE to get back to the stated purpose of this board. INTELLIGENT DEBATE ABOUT ISSUES THAT AFFECT ALL OF US
Refer to the top of the screen if you have forgotten this.
It is not the issues that are discussed that I question, it is the intelligence with which they are debated. Name calling and the like have no place in an intelligent debate.

I think every member of this board could be accused of nastiness by any other member on any given day when they disagreed. Kelly, you have as mean a streak as anyone. I take no prisoners myself, and I'm sure that comes as a total shock to everyone. But did you notice that the thread we are on has had a huge number of hits, and there are people ASKING to be included in the fun? Now that is a good picture, and yes it does make a decent point, without insulting anyone on this board. Unfortunately for most everyone else again it will show up as a box with an x. It may be Daryl the reason you can see the pictures and no one else can is that you have the pictures stored in your cache, and thus they pop up for you. If I plug the url www.lolhome.com in and then click on a random image, and then edit the url to include the jpg number it will show up, and then show up in CP until I close my browser.
And I think he is a realist.

Well, as far as feeling insulted by the pictures I posted, you are certainly in the minority, if not completely alone from what I've been seeing and hearing. The only feedback I've been getting is that more people want to be included, at least one frustrated that his picture wasn't showing up. The poll has been overwhelmingly positive. That democracy, as I see it. I guess you're just the one that wants to be left behind...
Interesting...you simply cant see anything from another view point. My mistake...continue embarrassing yourself.

The poll asked whether we loved Daryl and Dharma. It did not ask if others wanted to be pulled in to the fray. From where I sit, you have one who feels "left out" and one who prefers not to be compared to an ape--although at the time you posted that picture, Kelly handled it with humor and grace. At any rate, that's hardly an overwhelming endorsement for you to start firing shots at anyone and everyone.
I am not offended at the pictures you post (it takes quite a bit to offend me), but I must say I find that they offer even more insight into your personality. You're gonna need a bigger shovel before too much longer.

I've been the one seeing things from a different viewpoint all along, as has Dharma, and we have made a point with this thread. The invective and butt on the shoulders attitude is something that YOU are now bringing into this thread, and while it's your right to be a different drummer, you have to realize that you are the antagonist. To start playing victim again, and to whine about the nastiness when there was none is just bear-baiting.

Actually I compared him to an Ape first....I got pulled in with taking up the cause picture, and I was a bit offended by it, as I truly felt he was trying to suggest I was the dud complaining about Hooters. I am the last one who would ever complain about Hooters, and I tried to turn it around as best as I could. My point being he drug me into this thread with an attempt to completely degrade me. I didnt ask to be a part of this thread, yet he included me and others unwillingly.

I was responding to a post by Bobo, who I felt was trying to soften the pictures you posted and directed towards me. I appreciated his kind words, and was responding as such. And yes, I am as guilty as the next person of baiting someone for a fight, but in 100% all honesty I was insulted by the first picture you posted about me. The second one was bad, but I asked for it by responding to your post in the first place. Bottom line thats how I feel.
I would love to continue this thread, however I have approximately 35 dogs at the SPCA waiting for me to go feed them. I hope Daryl you can understand what I am trying to say and we can just leave it at that.

Oops. I should have named this thread DARYL vs. ALL CP MEMBERS!
:-D
I did make a mistake putting it on National Issues when it should be under Humour. My bad. :(
Also, David F. was upset at mine and Daryl's assinine behavior so I thought we could take our arguments to a thread where people could choose to read it or not. Clearly, we have both crossed the line into personal insults and less than intelligent arguments so we could call each other "Doodie Heads" without makign too much of a scene.
However, there are a few here who I consider close friends and/or future friends and would prefer to NEVER draw them into something that would damage those prospects.
So Daryl, I see this thread as partly humor and partly a way to argue with you without making those who aren't comfortable endure the drama. If people want to chime in, they shouldn't be insulted for that wasn't the purpose. We do need to respect decorum.
By the way, I haven't seen any of your recent posted pictures Daryl. They don't show up. I know how to do it but I don't want to help the opposition, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I guess even the mention of someones name here can cause a urinary confrontation, unless you ensure you're perfectly aligned with them politically, and walk lockstep on their issues with them, and otherwise walk on eggshells around them while they intrude with their obsessive need to plan and control everything. I guess what they really seek is the ultimate mechanism by which they can pull the strings, and orchestrate our every move as we travel about the triangle...

Daryl had just finished reading the book, 'MAN OF THE HOUSE'. He
stormed into the kitchen and walked directly up to his wife. Pointing a
finger in her face, he said, "From now on, I want you to know that I am
the man of this house, and my word is law! I want you to prepare me a
gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, I expect a
sumptuous dessert afterward. Then, after dinner, you are going to draw
me my bath so I can relax. And when I'm finished with my bath, guess who's
going to dress me and comb my hair?"
His wife replied, "The freaking funeral director would be my guess."

Daryl,
I just came across this Molly Ivins article and I couldn't stop thinking how it was written about far right wing policies such as the ones you so strongly support. You keep telling us all to get a clue. Read THIS fine article and try to get one.
The politics of greed
Nasty effects of Bushonomics start to take toll
AUSTIN, Texas -- I don't get it. What's the percentage in keeping the minimum wage at $5.15 an hour? After nine years? This is such an unnecessary and nasty Republican move. Congress has voted seven times to raise its own wages since last the minimum wage budged. Of course, Congress always raises its own salary in the dark of night, hoping no one will notice. But now it does the same with the minimum wage, quietly killing it.
Anyone who doesn't think this is a country where the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer needs to check the numbers -- this is Bush country, where a rising tide lifts all yachts.
According to the current issue of Mother Jones:
One in four U.S. jobs pays less than a poverty-level income.
Since 2000, the number of Americans living below the poverty line at any one time has risen steadily. Now, 13 percent -- 37 million Americans -- are officially poor.
Bush's tax cuts (extended until 2010) save those earning between $20,000 and $30,000 an average of $10 a year, while those making $1 million are saved $42,700.
In 2002, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, compared those who point out such statistics as the one above to Adolph Hitler (surely he meant Stalin?).
Bush has diverted $750 million to "healthy marriages" by shifting funds from social services, mostly childcare.
Bush has proposed cutting housing programs for low-income people with disabilities by 50 percent.
A series of related stats -- starting with the news that two out of three new jobs are in the suburbs -- shows how the poor are further disadvantaged in the job hunt by lack of public or private transportation.
Meanwhile, for those who have been following the collapse of the pension system, please note a series in The Wall Street Journal by Ellen Schultz taking a hard look at executive pension obligations:
"Benefits for executives now account for a significant share of pension obligations in the United States, an average of 8 percent (of large companies). Sometimes a company's obligation for a single executive's pension approaches $100 million."
"These liabilities are largely hidden, because corporations don't distinguish them from overall pension obligations in their federal financial findings."
"As a result, the savings that companies make by curtailing pensions of regular retirees -- which have totaled billions of dollars in recent years -- can mask a rising cost of benefits for executives."
"Executive pensions, even when they won't be paid until years from now, drag down the earnings today. And they do so in a way that's disproportionate to their size, because they aren't funded with dedicated assets."
It seems to me that we've seen enough evidence over the years that the capitalist system is not going to be destroyed by an outside challenger like communism -- it will be destroyed by its own internal greed. Greed is the greatest danger as we develop an increasingly winner-take-all system. And voices like The Wall Street Journal's editorial page encourage this mentality by insisting that any form of regulation is bad. But for whom?
It is so discouraging to watch this country become less and less fair -- "justice for all" seems like an embarrassingly archaic tag. Republicans have rigged the "lottery of life" in this country in ways we don't even know about yet. The new bankruptcy law is unfair, and the new college loan rules are worse. The system has been stacked so that large corporations have an inside track over small businesses in getting government contracts. We won't see the full consequences of this mean and careless legislation for years, but it starting to affect us already.
