We have a really special opportunity, pretty much local, in the brand new National whitewater center in Charlotte. Fees are as little as $25 for two sessions of 1 1/2 hours per individual. They don't have rental equipment for flatwater kayaking on the river yet, but if you bring your own, it's free to use. My understanding is they can adjust the flow from Cat I up through Cat V rapids, and wil be holding the US National Chamionships there in late August, worth just going as a spectator. Have fun, should be a great trip to take....
