The 9/14/2006 Cary Town Council meeting agenda is loaded with fun :-/

http://www.townofcary.org/agenda/agenda.htm

Item 2.a) Yet another rezoning request from O&I to medium density residential. This is getting ridiculous.

Item 3.e) Public art at the dog park. It's funded by a grant. That doesn't make me feel any better.

Item 4.c) Over $450,000 for drainage improvements. There are more pressing needs than Queensferry Rd but hey, that's the street Marla lives on, in the neighborhood that's also home to the mayor and the town's busiest developer. Did you expect anything else???

Items 4.e,f,g,h) All condemnations in the name of "quality of life" for everyone except those having their property gutted :-/

Item 4.j) A proposal to add up to 76 new stop signs and/or traffic lights throughout town. Nothing like big brother needing to write a few more tickets.

Item 4.q) Emergency Bypass Pumping Piping - They finally decided they should keep a few spare parts on hand. What a concept.

And my personal favorite...

Item C) Another masterstroke of timing. Hand out a water quality award (even if it is from a 3rd party) when the memory of businesses shut down for an entire weekend due to the e-coli scare is still fresh in the publics mind. Simply brilliant. (note: no disrespect meant for Kelvin Creech, who as the Water Treatment Plant Manager, does a fine job)

Let me guess, another over-priced Highwoods Property that David Finger couldn't sell (because they are over-priced). Hey David, let me clue you in; the buyers determined the market.

And more medium density residential! At this rate, this will soon become the theme song for Cary:

Just exchange Cary for Chicago (http://www.myclassiclyrics.com/elvis_presley/in_the_ghetto.html)
