Wasylkevych should have read further

Dear Editor,
In his October 4th Letter to the Editor entitled "Hyatt shows why he was cut", Mr. Wasylkevych uses a quote from President Teddy Rosevelt's speech "Citizenship in a Republic" delivered at Sorbonne, Paris in 1910. By using that particular quote, Mr. Wasylkevych is apparently trying to show that by being critical of Town Council, I am somehow unfit to actually serve on Town Council. Though I'm sure he is not alone in his sentiment, Mr. Wasylkevych did not address my primary question. That is, will any new at-large appointee serve everyone, or not? Indeed, if Mr. Wasylkevych had read just one sentence further in Rosevelt's speech, he would have seen the following: "Shame on the man of cultivated taste who permits refinement to develop into a fastidiousness that unfits him for doing the rough work of a workaday world." - which oddly enough is precisely the point I was trying to make.
