I met the new owner of the convenient store on the corner of Old Apex and High House (Shell Station). He has lowered his prices on goods and gas to be the lowest in town. He even has the sale prices from the newspaper of local stores to prove he wants your business. He is offering a rebate on the spot if you purchase premium gas with cash. Why the lower price if you purchase the premium gas with cash? Because he does not have to pay the transaction fee to the credit card company and he wants to move that premium gas because less of us are using it because of the high prices. And besides, that is what small business people do ... get creative and do what it takes!
