Aah, Grasshopper, you still can't take the pebble out of my hand......... :D :D

First and foremost, always consider who made the list and for what reason. Based on the films, I image it was a bunch of late 20 somethings that needed to fill some space in their magazine. They have a little brain storming session, and this is what you get.

Also, it is more about the film as a film than it's impact on the culture, especially 20th century American culture. Films and later television help defined who and what America is. It may not be great film, but it might be a great story, or something we can all relate to, it is what "binds" our culture together.

However, given the films on the list, and having no order, I would agree that about 10 of those films are "over-rated," but over-rated by what standard? Classic American Films?

Always ask the question, but try to know the answer first.

Well, in the "flash/article" bit it goes into *why* they said it was overrated, and on each movie it also has a rebuttal.

Just an interesting list...I'm surprised that Titanic, The Passion of the Christ and An Inconvenient Truth didn't make the list.
