Mycho's and Oishi's two big winners for Cary.
Mycho's occupies the former ice cream shop in the Wellington Park Shopping Center at the corner of Cary Parkway and Tryon. A beautifully designed make over with a Greek/Med flair. The food is lucious with unusual seafood offerings - like oven roasted Branzini (bass) flown in from Greece. Marcia and I shared a scampi appetizer, asparagus soup (yum) and a mahi mahi with crabmeat. Rack of lamb and many Greek traditional specialities on the menu. Many Greek and French wines. The home made cake was wonderful. Although they are in their shakedown crusie phase, the service was wonderful. Ask for Melissa. Pete is an experienced chef and Ike an experienced restauranteur. Our only compaint was the white bread. The bill was a modest $58 with tax and w/o a tip. Get there before the crowds.
Ditto for Oishi in the shopping center at the corner of Kildaire Farms and Lochmere Parkway. The decor is unchanged from the old Blue Moon but has the food ever improved. Mostly pan Asian + European gourmet dishes.
Marcia loved the duck spring roll and the chicken/pork pot stickers. She raved about the chicken which I thought was well seasoned but a bit too overdone. The prices are reasonable and the service was fine. Try it you will like it.
