Cary Town Council Candidates LIVE PUBLIC Forum Scheduled for Oct. 2.

(Cary, NC) The Cary Town Council Candidates LIVE PUBLIC Forum is the first event of its kind to give Cary voters the opportunity to question all candidates together on the issues in one live event Tuesday, Oct. 2nd at 7:30pm.

Ten candidates are in the race for the mayor’s office and three seats on the Cary Town Council in a hotly divided community concerning development growth issues, school crowding and insufficient infrastructure. All 10 candidates have agreed to participate in this exciting, non-partisan event and to answer live questions from the audience.

Unlike the Cary Candidate Community Forum taped and hosted by the NC Center for Voter Education earlier this month, this 2-hour forum allows the public to ask live questions on a more expansive list of topics and pose follow-up questions to specific candidates during the event.

Co-sponsored by the Cary Democrats and the Western Wake Republicans Club, this non-partisan forum will be moderated by television broadcaster Kelcey Carlson, WRAL's weekend news anchor. The forum is scheduled for 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm Tuesday, October 2nd in the auditorium of the Glenaire Retirement Center (4000 Glenaire Circle, Cary, NC 27513).

Town residents will have the opportunity to submit questions in writing to a non-partisan screening team to insure all candidates are given an equal opportunity to speak. No more than one follow-up question will be permitted per topic. This event is the last opportunity for voters to hear the candidates before Early Voting begins the following morning in Cary.

Cary voters may question the candidates on their positions of the issues to find out why candidates want their vote on October 9th...and if they deserve it.
