Okay folks,

I'm new to Cary but I heard about this site and decided to "lurk first" before posting.

I'd be interested in a poll on the Democratic Party race. What candidate do you think has the best chance to unseat President Bush?

Cute,

But not quite what I had in mind! Is is going to be a Dean/Clark slate...or maybe Dean/Kerry ?? The possibilities are endless.

Of course, if we continue with our "next Vietnam war" (AKA "Operation Iraqi Freedom), the President will unseat himself, without help from the Democrats.

Your comments?

The Democrats have an impossible task. They are not taken seriously on matters of national security. Sober members of that party know that and are already discussing it in interviews with the media. Lieberman is the only Donkeycrat candidate who has the stature of a rational, sober adult.
When it came time to assess what occured on 9/11 and how to address the matter, Bush did it in a fashion the public found reasonable and justifiable. The Donkeycrats came off looking like rabid ideologues who put their partisanship and their prejudices ahead of the nation.

The problem is that for any of them is that to be nominated they have to swing hard left to secure the Donkeycrat base. As of right now this next election cycle is shaping up to be a repeat of 1984 and 1972. The Donkeycrats keep nominating kooks the mainstream cannot take seriously. It would be a battle if the GOP nominated Pat Robertson, but they're not that stupid. Unfortunately, the Donkeycrats are. Frankly, a Dean\Kucinich ticket is my dream for '04.

The true test to find out whether someone is a kook or not in the Donkeycrat Party is to engage them about Clinton. Bill did a lot of things, but the greatest was becoming an Eisenhower Republican on his economic policies. He destroyed the Donkeycrat lock on statehouses and legislatures across the country. He "triangulated" against his own party. He pushed social legislation the left abhorred (welfare reform). He did all these things because it got HIM re-elected at the same time it crucified the left wing (the Democratic Wing) of the Democratic Party.

Clinton taught us a lot, the one thing he proved beyond a reasonable doubt though is that for a Donkeycrat to get elected, he or she must adopt the Republican agenda.

Running on the agenda of the left is guarantteed electoral disaster the the Donkeycrats.

Have a nice day.

Yes, all Lieberman would have to do is find a way to correct his speech patterns so he does not sound so much like Eeyore. 8O
