Not much surprise there after failing to make an impact in SC, which he had turned into his firewall state. I'd expect to see Giuliani do the same if/when he fails to win Florida.
Funny part is that even Thompson's withdrawal announcement sounded like he was only half-interested (just like his entire campaign).
"Today, I have withdrawn my candidacy for president of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort," Thompson said in a statement.

Yep. Too bad :-( The fact that he wasn't frothing at the mouth over the job is one of the reasons I like him. Maybe he'll be McCain's VP pick...

Maybe he can get one of his old jobs back. Perhaps Senate committee counsel or Manhattan DA :grin:
