Wow...not much you can add to this (http://americanresearchgroup.com/economy/):
Among all Americans, 19% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 77% disapprove.
The really amazing part is that McCain is still running as More Bush.

Good thing Abe Lincoln didn't rely on popularity polls when he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, or took the nation into the civil war ....

Yeah! Because Bush and Linclon have so much in common. Linclon did what he knew was best for the nation in the long run. Bush did what he knew was best for the oil companies in the long run.

Time to use your own words here. I'm going to do it every time you prove yourself the MENTAL MIDGET you are!
...so far all that has been offered in reply is childish taunts. If you really believe the crap you spout, the least you owe us is to try and back it up, as I have already done. State your case, and desist from your sand-flipping tantrums.

Sorry, I just can't let this one slide :-) The current world oil market is not good for anyone in the long run - including the oil companies themselves, if the resulting profits are not used to further research and exploration. Sky high oil prices have been great for near term oil company profits and magnificent for speculators who continue to drive prices artificially higher. However, any long term benefit will not come about if these "windfalls" are forcibly taken and used to fund feel good entitlement programs instead of being used to research / develop new technologies, build new refineries, and drill for more domestic oil.
A future where everyone has government backed health insurance, lives off social security, and where no child is left behind, seems pretty darn dark to me if it also means no more oil, no more coal, no more nuclear power, no more wind farms, no more hydro-electric, and solar only on sunny days.
Sooner or later, you'll come the realization that maintaining big oil as the evil bogeyman requires either a) major investment in less efficient or more expensive energy, or b) perpetually high energy prices and a struggling economy.
If you believe the use of fossil fuels is causing global warming and that we are doomed unless we stop using them, then please start lobbying hard for new nuclear power plants. I would prefer that the lights stay on.

So, it's okay to have these kinds of profits?

Certainly. The profits themselves are neither good nor bad (except they're are probably good for employees of the company), it's what they are or are not used for that is problematic. 20 years ago when oil companies made very little profit and were under tremendous regulation, they couldn't afford to build new refineries. We are still suffering from that. Now that they are making huge profits, the emphasis should be on getting them to reinvest their profits, not on taxing them to shore up some candidates election / re-election efforts.

I'd like the lights to stay on, too. And yes, I'd prefer our country put its money into hydro-electric and solar than in oil. That said, even recognizing our current oil dependence, I cannot support going to war for it, especially under the cover of lies we were told.

I noticed that myself... I'll take a look at the code and see if I can modify it to handle nested quotes. It may take a day or two.

Bush has been very successful president as he set out to loot the treasury for the benefit of corporations and wealthy individuals and he has. He wanted to invade Iraq, steal its resources and make it a cash cow for corporations and he did just that.
If you're one of the 19% still supporting him, it seems this would make you happy.

It turned out to be pretty easy :-) Now all quotes will be included and nested automatically :-)

Now, with that success, perhaps you could make all of Dharma's posts appear in white on a white background.... and if you could make them all caps, too, since she likes to shout !!!!
