Brent was mentioned no less than 4 times by name in a scathing editorial from 2001 at-large "also ran" Michael Nourse  A fine piece of journalism from John Barbara also appeared although I could swear I'd already read it somewhere. Harold (target of CP's record holding thread "Harold and the planning board") also had a piece on C-Tran opposite a civics discourse from Darryl Black. If I didn't know better, I'd swear the 2005 at-large campaign has already started. However, lacking substantive editorial from yours truly, that obviously isn't the case

John won't be running for anything in 2005....his neighbors are going to lynch him for dropping their f'ing mutts off at the SPCA...in Jacksonville, FLA.

It sure looks like the case with me, as far as Darryl Black is concerned anyways. I couldn't see Harold running against Julie in 2 years but you never know. So when are your editorials going to start Don?

Yes Brent's name came up a time or two huh? It was rather discouraging to see such defamation instead of just staying on the issue(s) at hand. Mentioning the names and families of developers and insulting others involved with a camapign from 1999 was pitiful to say the least. Quit bitching about the past. Talk is cheap - do something about it!

Harold's editorial deserved criticism, which it recieved from Darryl. The discussion "probably" would have ended there - except darryl chose to insult CSC's track record, instead of just making the comparrison of support. Brent responded to Darryl's insult reminding him of HIS outstanding track record as well. The discussion REALLY should have ended there. But unfortunately it didn't and Nourse felt the need to attack. Can't wait to read this weeks paper!

Excuse me, can we get back to the substantive matter at hand?

A fine piece of journalism from John Barbara also appeared....

Maybe we can start a pool on how long the Cary News will allow this incessant back stabbing to go on.....Three issues with four individuals so far....

Don, I agree.

I thought that the latest letter was especially unfortunate, in that Darryl and I had a polite, civil conversation prior to its publication in which we agreed about "no hard feelings" and moving on to other issues, especially those where we might find agreement. I won't speak for Darryl, but I expect he would agree that we believe we can continue to have such polite, civil, productive conversations.

Although it would be understandable, I suppose, if more letters decided to "pile on", respond in kind yet again, or otherwise weigh in, I hope that if this conversation were to continue in this week's Cary News, it would be more along the lines of respecting but regretting certain viewpoints, especially if expressed in harsh language, while still encouraging vigorous debate nevertheless. I guess we'll see.

Indeed. I was pleased to see this one published.

And borrowing from Ken's classic post, I'd just like to take a moment...to thank the academy..."

Oh, I agree...when are you weighing in, Hyatt? :)

Has she been back to "visit" your yard yet? I wonder if she reads the Cary News? :D

Actually, 4 issues with 4 individuals. Harold wrote his editorial, Darryl responded one week later, Brent responded the following week, and this past week Nourse put his 2 cents worth in. Are we going 5 for 5?

Not unless she's doing it when our cars are gone and no one is home.

I hope she does and I hope it makes her even more angry. Since she has no respect for other's property maybe her sense of shame can be cultivated to achieve a positive outcome.
