When a guy is shaking your hand if you are a female do you prefer a normal handshake or a light handshake? If you are a guy do you prefer the womans hand shake to be firm or delicate?

Somewhat firm. Otherwise I fear my bone crushing grip may harm her :-)

Limp wrists = Limp personality

They are probably sexist and think because you are a woman only the limp handshake is acceptable (men=strong; women=weak esp. when barefoot and pregnant). When men do that to me I say "I didn't know you were gay". Straight, sexist pigs really hate it when you say they are gay.
:-D

(that is so a joke people - I really just kick them in the chins and run)

You'd cause a riot in a Muslim society Holly.

What would you think of having to wear a burkha? ;)

John this is an interesting topic. In the US you see alot of woman wearing the headscarfs (hijab). They certainly do this vountarily - at least under the assumption these is no man behind her forcing her to do so. I think a lot of people (esp feminists) force this issue way too much. I'd suspect that a lot of woman want to wear them just as many Christians wear a cross around their neck or Jewishs males wear a yamaka. Now that Iraq is "free" woman still wear them - I'd assume because they want to...but I've been wrong before.

Feminists need to leave this one and the whole porn degrades woman thing alone but that's a TOTALLY different issue.

I think if I was forced to wear one I wouldnt like it...However if it was part of my religion, I would probably be cool with it.

You two would be "cool" with being 1/2 a human being? Women are, by the Haddith's and Koran, entitled to 1/2 the inheritance a male heir is. In court their testimony is worth 1/2 of a man's. Which is why rapists are rarely, if ever, convicted in Islamic courts. It has to be witnessed by two women or by men willing to testify. No less an authority than Mohammed said the principal dwellers of hell were women, because they are deficient in religion and intelligence. Women are relegated to the status of personal property. In war the opposing men are slaughtered, the women become sex slaves, the children become Moslems.

By religion the status of women is that of nothing but property. They can do nothing without the approval of their father or husband. By culture it just gets worse. Do a search on either of the following:

"honor killings" or "female circumcision"

In states such as Iran prostitution is non-existant. Temporary "marriages" are quite common. They can be contracted to last less than an hour and some of the largest numbers of women engaged in this type of rental activity are located at Qom and other "holy" cities for use/abuse by the Imam's in training.

Your arguments sound a lot like arguments slave owners used to make. The fact that the victims get used to being victimized and know of no alternative doesn't mean that is the life they would lead if they knew of the alternatives. Women who refuse to wear appropriately "Islamic" attire can be beaten bloody in places like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan, and the former Taliban's Afghanistan. If the choice is wear the bag or get the $hit beaten out of you, I suppose one could safely conclude the women are happy to wear the bag and it is their "choice". I'd arrive at a different conclusion.

No right now I would not be cool with that...but what if they simply didnt know better...or if that is what they truly believe. Its not my place to tell them their religious beliefs are right or wrong. I can only say that their practice does not fit in with my beliefs.

On the lighter side, Holly wrote:

Recommended responses if Holly ask if you are "gay."

"Why yes, I am a very happy person."

"Why yes, how can you tell?"

"Only when I go off my medications"

"Actually sortof, I love all sorts of people. How about you?"

"No, I'm a florist and I have to treat everything delicately."

"No, but I am a Democrat."

"Why yes I am, and I vote Democrat."

"Absolutely not, but I am voting for John Kerry and Mike Weasly."

"Well sort of, I work at the Triangle United Way."

"Heck no, little darling, I just am suffering for corporal tunnel syndrone. If you drove a bulldozer all day, you hands would be tired too! You want to see my special tattoo?"

Yes Holly, you are correct, we really do hate it. Also you can exchange "gay" for "small peni$" and get about the same result.

Be that as it may, I really hate it when women try to give "manly" handshakes as well. When women do this to me I ask "I didn't know you are a lesbian?" Straight women suffering from peni$ envey really hate whey you say they are gay. :@)

About hit the "clever" limit for the day. (:|

Standing by for "high winds & heavy seas" from the womenfolk at CP. b-(
