Today's special event:
August 23, 1754 is King Louis XVI's birthday. Celebrate the King's support of the fledgling American Revolution against Britain by reading the Declaration of Independence.

Go find your kids and enjoy a good read togather.

I was watching this PBS special on "Miss America" tonight and then checked out the website. In many ways, the history of American can be reflected on our "Miss America's." Anyway, check out the website and read the "timeline" part; all sorts of good history there.

I wonder, how many of the lady posters on CP dreamed of walking down
the runway in Atlantic City, having Bert Parks singing, "There she is, Miss America......!" :-D

We could stage our own Celebrate Cary! Pagent with our very own Brent Miller singing "There she is, MrsCarySoccerMom!"

Instead of the talent competition we could have the minivan parking competition and we could sub a sweatpants and tennis shoes walk at the soccer park for the swimsuit exhibition.

It's perfect plus it'll "PayForItself!"(tm)

-"PayForItself" trademark used with permission of the Cary Planning Department and remains wholly owned and licensed by them.

John, count me in. I'm not much of a singer, as you know, but then again, neither was Bert Parks.

For the Q&A portion, the correct answer, instead of "I just want to work for world peace", will be "I just want to Celebrate Cary!"

That oughta be the sign off line everyone uses at the Council meetings...at the end of your statements, "I would just like to encourage everyone to work for world peace and to remember to Celebrate Cary!"

Make a mockery of that gawdawful slogan.
