CARY’S CALLING ALL DOGS TO BOND PARK THIS WEEKEND FOR VACCINES, CHIPS & MORE AT ANNUAL DOG DAYS
Doggies to compete for chance at World Frisbee Championship

CARY, NC – There will be a whole lot of barking going on at Cary’s Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road, during the Dog Days of June from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.; the event will offer rabies and micro-chipping for pets along with a variety of free activities that every canine is sure to enjoy. Each year, the Town of Cary sponsors the Rabies and Micro-Chipping clinic to help protect area animals and citizens.

Rabies Vaccines and micro-chipping will be offered from 9:30 a.m. until noon for $5 per pet for the Rabies Vaccine and $10 per pet for Micro-chipping. For more, call Cary Animal Control at (919) 319-4517.

Also from 9:30 until noon, pets can vie for an opportunity to compete for the World Canine Frisbee Disc Championships during the Canine Frisbee Disc Competition. All dogs, regardless of lineage or experience, are invited to participate. Plus, each participant goes home with a free official disc (while supplies last). Prizes awarded to top 3 competitors. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at Field # 2 in Bond Park, and competition begins at 10 a.m. Registration for the Wag'n Trail Charity Dog Walk will be available on line.

“Bring your canines out to the beautiful surroundings of Bond Park for a fun, charitable event and an opportunity to meet up with local dog lovers in one convenient location,” said Bond Park Supervisor Bill Eucker. Eucker added that throughout the day, all pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet unless competing in the Frisbee competition.

During the Dog Day Afternoon, guests can enjoy live music, face painting, participate in the "Wag'n Trail" Charity Dog Walk, compete in a dog/owner look alike contest or try their luck at the charity raffle to benefit SPCA of Wake County. There will also be an opportunity to check out dogs available for adoption.
