News outlets are reporting that a bailout deal has been reached by Congress and being forward to Paulson & Bush for review. According to reports, there isn't much left that needs to be worked out. That means there is no valid reason to skip the debate. As much as I would prefer McCain to win in November, he is a fool if he doesn't show up.

Did McCain or Obama even make it to DC?

House Republican leader John Boner is denying it:
“As I told our Conference this morning, there is no bipartisan deal at this time,” House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said. “There may be a deal among some Democrats, but House Republicans are not a part of it.”
Your guess is as good as mine but mine is that the Dem leadership is gonna run to kick this football and then the GOP is gonna pull a Lucy and yank it away and try to paint the Bush bailout as a Dem bailout. And Pelosi and Reid will, as usual, swallow the fake bipartisan bull.
It'd be entertaining if *someone* held this up till Saturday morning to force McCain to make his no-win Friday night decision...
