I know, it is sad that $3.13 gas qualifies to be posted under "Great Buys" but it is a heck of a lot less than anywhere else in town. The Bunkey's Shell on High House road has had gas as cheap as $2.98 this week. Apparently they don't hold much inventory in their tanks so the lower prices flow quicker. Get there early in the day, then tend to run out by dinnertime.

For those who haven't used it, www.gasbuddy.com (http://www.gasbuddy.com) is a great site to find the lowest prices.

That said, North Carolina is a great place to find the highest prices in the nation, still. It ranks fourth at the moment, with an average statewide price of 3.341/gal, just behind Alaska (3.845/gal), Hawaii (3.855/gal), and California (3.435/gal). Why? Mike Easley Politics! North Carolina's neighbor to the north, Virginia, has an average price of 2.958/gal, and South Carolina is averaging 3.004/gal. Personally, since I spend so much time in Virginia, I'm bringing my gas with me for driving in NC. Gotta love the 5 gallon gas can (it's currently available for $2.51/gal here in Richmond this week). And they don't run out by dinnertime!

Had enough yet? Or are you going to vote for "more of the same" Democratic politics in North Carolina November 4th?

If you're planning to head west on I-40 anytime soon, buy your gas in Alamance County.
It's $2.99 at some stations along the highway. No idea why there is such a difference between there and Cary.....

Because our gas smells better than those other towns.

Here's a clue as to what's going on. Mike Easley, and David Price, and Stan Norwalk, and the clueless legislators in Raleigh are all pushing an agenda, and they don't WANT you to have less expensive gas. You see, it is in their interests to keep prices as high as they can, to the extent we are now #4 in the entire country for high priced gas. That way, they can ensure the push for putting everybody into a 50 sq ft crackerbox in the central business district with a "FailRail" mass transit running through the middle of it, according to their socially reengineered model, and they expect that to us it will sound like a good option, and we'll all want to give up our cars, and come to rely on government for our transportation, our housing, our lifestyle.....

...and for some good news after all the bad news yesterday, I went to a station for a fill-up today...at $1.91/gal.

Where? My truck could use topping off at that price.
