"Tickets"? Are they screening the audience or is the venue small?
No screening or tickets today for this:

"Whine"? Closer to gloating..at least the picture part. That picture was the next President of the United States of America today in downtown Raleigh with 28,000 or so close friends! ;)
The text was actually a genuine question.....where is she gonna be? Kind of curious what kind of drawing power they're looking for here this late. And given the reports earlier today of age profiling at McCain events I think the screening question is a valid one, don't you?
And I can not post anytime I want....I did it for four months earlier this year. But why on earth would I WANT to stop posting politics a week before our long national nightmare finally ends? The beginning of the end of the Reagan era of US decline is six days away. Time to begin anticipating a generational celebration! ;)
So....any thoughts on Palin throwing Johnny Mac under the bus earlier today?

BTW, lest anyone think I was making up the stuff about screening..... (http://www.iowastatedaily.com/articles/2008/10/28/news/local_news/doc49068f6ccce49245010961.txt)
She said McCain staffers wouldn’t tell her why she was being asked to leave and when she got outside, she saw “a group of about 20 people” who had all been asked to leave.
Elborno said after seeing the people who were asked to leave, she was concerned that McCain’s staffers were profiling people on appearance to determine who might be a potential protester.
“When I started talking to them, it kind of became clear that they were kind of just telling people to leave that they thought maybe would be disruptive, but based on what? Based on how they looked,” Elborno said. “It was pretty much all young people, the college demographic.”
Elborno said even McCain supporters were among those being asked to leave.
“I saw a couple that had been escorted out and they were confused as well, and the girl was crying, so I said ‘Why are you crying? and she said ‘I already voted for McCain, I’m a Republican, and they said we had to leave because we didn’t look right,’” Elborno said. “They were handpicking these people and they had nothing to go off of, besides the way the people looked.”

Belle,
I think you're probably the last holdout left to tell us that, and you've definitely got a higher threshhold for abuse than any of the rest of us. Thanks, (I guess), for that "news" ...

For those following at home, Belle is still avoiding all substantive discussion in this thread. Even - for some bizarre reason - the seemingly simple "where is the rally" question. Instead she decided to go with personal attack.
And the correct characterization is "he Wouldn't do it". Please not to be intentionally misrepresenting my clearly stated positions. Thank you.

With all due respect, Belle, isn't this a discussion board? Why are you daring someone NOT to post?

Sorry for the personal attack chabord.
And you are right, I'm not going to get into a discussion.
If there's a better place for announcements, I agree I should have posted it there.
Enjoy the brisk day all!

On reflection Belle - I'd like to apologize for picking YOUR post to do a little gloating on.
I think your preferred party has brought my country to its knees and I think its current candidate has run the sleaziest, most dishonorable campaign I've ever seen and thus I am almost certainly erring on the obnoxious side in my current elation at the prospect of getting my country back next week.
However, *you* (unlike some others here - including several moderators - who love to make snide personal attacks) have been nothing but civil to me and I should have respected that. Please accept my apology for hijacking your announcement thread. I offer the above not as an excuse - my action was not excusable - but as an explanation.
Oh....and I got a robo-call from McCain's campaign inviting me to Palin's rally! :))
Think I'll pass but pass on my regards for the invite. ;)

What?? You mean that wasn't the REAL Pat McCrory calling? 8O
It was a robo call?!! ;-)
Thank you for civility, and Happy Halloween.

Obama's campaign prevented two young women from sitting behind Obama during a rally because they were wearing headscarves. They were concerned with their Muslim "appearance" - the way they "looked".
For the record, I believe both campaigns were wrong.
