Thanks for the information. Is that available on a county by county bases?
Is it on line?

Well, according to pretty much everybody except me over in that other thread you should not have that information! Apparently they don't think you can handle the truth. You should weigh in over there so I'm not all alone .... ;)
Anyway....
Go here:
http://www.sboe.state.nc.us/Default.aspx?s=0
For summary of Early Votes cast by demographic click on link:
2008 General Absentee Summary PDF (or Excel)
That doesn't appear to be broken down by County.
The new registration numbers however ARE
broken down by county and are available by clicking on the link titled:
2008 General New Voter Registration Summary
That only goes through 10/23 however - apparently one-stop registrations
have not yet been added.

According to an article that just went up over at wral's web site:
Raleigh, N.C. — At the finally tally, 251,304 residents of Wake County voted at one-stop sites through the close of polls Saturday, elections officials said.

Thanks, Chaboard. I didn't participate in the other thread because I did not want to break up the only total agreement in the history of CP, if not in the history of the world.:)
I interested in how may voters voted early - and how many are left to vote. I am sure that votes won't be counted before Tuesday night, but what would get the biggest turnout is knowing that a race is close. Knowledge that one candidate or the other has a large lead will bring out a few who want to join the bandwagon or want to be able to claim that they voted for the one that lost (as in the number of people who later claimed that they didn't vote for Nixon8O.

Wouldn't that be a really tough sell if 185% of registered voters ended up casting a ballot?
Vote early...vote often.... 8O

In Wake County, 46.8% of all registered voters have already voted = 270,000 voters. 50.1% Dems to 27.2% Reps. Reports form GOTV folks at the precinct level confirms same. I campaigned in Holly Springs, Pullen, Garner and Chavis Heights early voting sites. My impressions confirm strong support. My impression is that many will vote a straight ticket...incl. Reps. A 65% turnout would be a record for recent years = ~125,000 votes to be cast on Tuesday.
Especially if it rains on Tuesday, as forecast, final election results will confirm ev results.
The skull mailer was a great asset in campaigning at the ev sites. I owe something to Chris Sinclair. hmmmm...
