...from the lovely Greensboro Coliseum Complex. I'm here covering the Hagan camp for tonight. Dem Party workers seem optimistic -- TV photographers are already complaining. There's not nearly enough room for the 17 credentialed cameras on the riser they've provided haha. I'm just happy I have internet access.

Hey Chris, do you get a camera person and sound tech as well? I have seen your poor counter-parts from Channel 14 and they are running a one-person show when doing field work.

Things I want to know. What kind of food do they have on the catering table? (Bar-b-Que/beans or Lobster/caviar) What will Kay be wearing tonight? (Hudson Belk/Thom McCain or Versace/Prada)

Get a chance for an interview, hit her with this: Illegal Immigration is a major issue in North Carolina. Do you plan to continue the Washington "status quo" on this vital issue or work on funding and enforcing the current laws?

Anyway, from working the other end, if you make enough noise, they will give you more room.

Have fun!

Oh yeah - Greensboring!
There's always Stamey's BBQ across the street. Several pawn shops and klassy strip joints in the area also.
(Pat McCrory comes from just up High Point road near Ragsdale High School.)

I'm working with a photographer today -- but usually I'm toiling by myself like the News14 folks.

No food yet...much to my chagrin. The box lunch my newsroom provided left a little to be
desired  And Kay won't be here until at least 8, and even then, I'm told she's going to be staying out of sight until it's time to give her concession/victory speech, so I don't know if I'll get a chance to see what label she's wearing.

Chris -- for a prospective Senator, she probably has at least 3 handlers. Not to be sexist, but look for either the female and/or gay handler. They should be working the room sometime after 5 pm.

The heck with ballots for this race, I've been waiting for the whole thing to descend to the level of a cage matched, Jello-wrestling, "Enter the Octagon" special, as they attack each other with nuclear-tipped Bible mallets......

...I think they both just made my case for "None of the Above".

As long as we're on the topic of Greensboring and Hagan: Wasn't there some friction about her husband's membership at the G'boro Country Club?

I remember in the 1970's a local businessman who looked/sounded exactly like "Boss Hogg" and did all his own local TV spots was consistently turned down for membership -

Billy Shepherd of Shepherd Brothers Carpets: "We're Open 8:55 to 8:55".
