Memory fails me as to which newspaper, but Stan recently had a letter to the editor published (Stan, help me out here and refresh my memory please?).

Wake's responsibility



Three cheers to Ruth Sheehan (column, Sept. 23) for turning the spotlight onto the Wake County commissioners regarding the proposed drastic shift to year-round schools. But she should have dug a little deeper, into the county commissioners' decision to cut the school boards' requested 2004-2008 construction budget by 45 percent.
There is something basically wrong with a governing body that spends more time debating which brand of luxury hotel they should subsidize as part of the $200 million Convention Center boondoggle than they have on figuring out how to build enough new schools to keep up with the county's explosive growth.
