at the Presidential Debates, what would it be?

Mr. President and Senator Kerry, Thank you for being here tonight. Sirs, currently it is estimated that up to 16 million Americans for various reasons are out of work. The Department of Homeland Security estimates their are between 6 to 10 million illegal aliens in this country. What are you going to do in the next four years to rid our nation of these illegal aliens? And please keep it simple.

"Why do you insist on not answering the questions asked? They are good questions. Why must you turn every answer into the topic that your handlers told you to keep hammering on, and then keep repeating the catch phrases that your pollsters told you we wanted to hear? Don't you have an original thought in your head? Oh, and please don't use most of the time allocated to answering this question to return to the previous topic because your opponent got the last word on that."

I am curious to see how many "true" independents are in the audience - VS. - how many Dems or Reps are disguised as "Indys"

For what it is worth, Brent had the best question. From what I watched last night, neither Bush nor Kerry went much deeper than there talking points. In some cases, they both flew off into other directions. If I were the "handlers" I think the saying "less is more" would of been appropriate.

Holly, I agree with you. However, "our" system is set up in such of way, that only candidates like you mentioned are able to run the course all the way through. I remember how happy many people where when Clinton got elected (both times), but in the end, they were extremely disappointed. Same could be said for Nixon, in that for the most part, after he was elected, he went against the Republican party for the naiton's sake. I degress.

To honest, I got bored very quickly. Bush seem a little more "angry" while Kerry came off "smug". Kerry is diffently better on his feet and a better "debater," but Bush seem more "sincere." Sorry, I can't pick a Commander-in-Chief based on debating abilities.

Thoughts and comments on the debate?

~~~~~~Fantansy sequence~~~~~~~~~~
Part of Bush's closing remarks: At this point in time, Senator Kerry would be the right man, at the right plance, at the right time, running for President (slight pause) of France. But is right for France is not right for the United States. Thank you and God Bless. Good Night!
~~~~~~~~~~~That was fun~~~~~~~~~~

1-Senator Kerry, you said you wouldn't take action without passing some "international test". In 1991 you voted AGAINST fighting the Iraqis to push them out of Kuwait, a nation they had invaded, AFTER the UN authorized the allies to attack and drive the Iraqis out. Yet two years ago you voted in favor of invading Iraq with a much smaller coalition and a UN security council, aka the coalition of the bribed, who didn't want the dictator Hussein deposed. Can you PLEASE explain this inherent contradiction in some clear and concise fashion without waffling before breakfast?

2-I am currently in the US Naval Reserves, explain to me how I, and my daughter who is in the Florida National Guard, can salute YOU, a self-confessed "war crimminal" and somehow, magically, be something different than the members of the Luftwaffe, Wehrmacht, and Kreigsmarine were in 1945?

Someone pointed me in this direction. It is a Michael Moore "example" of Middle Earth. 14 Minutes long, but fun. Enjoy!
