Pajaujis said there's also a secret ingredient: microbes that actually eat the oil.Somebody needs to buy this guy a copy of Ill Wind by Kevin J. Anderson & Doug Beason

When a panicky oil company tries to clean up a major spill in San Francisco Bay by dropping genetically engineered oil-eating microbes on it, the little organisms go berserk and start devouring most of the world's long-chain polycarbons (gasoline, plastics, etc.). Within the first 150 pages, this leads to a breakdown of communications and information-processing systems. It's a so-so sci-fi novel but sure seems pertinent right now....

I have been trying to hold my tongue in for a long time now on this subject but beyond the book, I hope the "drill baby drill" fanatics will spare a few moments thinking about natural and economic disasters brought on by this oil spill. Our hunger for oil has to subside and maybe escalating oil prices and awful events like this one will give folks some pause. This is just terrible on all fronts.

One of the more absurd things I read this morning was about a poll asking who's more to blame, BP or the Obama administration. Aside from the fact that when you take risks **** sometimes happens, only those totally out of touch with reality would blame Obama. I don't care for many (if not most) of Obama's policies but to try and pin this on him is just stupid.
