WTF!!!!!
Apparently the TOC can't decide what day they want us to Trick-or-Treat, so they say that Trick-or-Treating can be Saturday OR Sunday.
What the #$%^ is that about? It's bad enough that the teenagers who surround us are going to come to tp the yard and harrass us for candy on one night (especially since we have two tiny ones). But now the town is actually sanctioning allowing this two nights?!?!?!
So maybe I'm being a little over-sensitive. But this is just ridiculous.
MAKE A DECISION MORONS!!!

According to the press release on October 5th
http://www.townofcary.org/news/news2004/halloween.htm
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 5, 2004
HALLOWEEN IS OCTOBER 31 IN CARY
Unlike some communities, the Town of Cary does not dictate when kids go trick-or-treating. Since Halloween is always on October 31, that’s the day most families in Cary go door-to-door in costumes for candy and fun. However, the Town of Cary ’s annual Safe-N-Sane Halloween Celebration for kids 15 and under will be held this year on Saturday, October 30 from 12-2 p.m. at the Cary Towne Center . For more information on this or other activities in October, call the Town of Cary ’s Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Resources Department (919) 469-4061 or visit www.townofcary.org.

That's weird, NBC is reporting that Cary is among the municipalities that can't make up their minds.
I wonder where they got that information...in fact, I think I'll call and ask- especially since other people will undoubtedly read the same article...
<crawling away in embarrassment>

here's the article...
Area Towns Set Halloween Schedules
WNCN-TVRALEIGHN.C. - The real trick for this year's Halloween is to figure out which night area children can collect treats this weekend because it varies depending on where you live.
Because Halloween falls on a Sunday, some cities and towns across the country are moving their “official” celebration of the holiday to Saturday night in an attempt to avoid offending people's religious beliefs.
In the Triangle, Cumberland County and the towns of Clayton, Henderson, Hope Mills and Smithfield all will be hosting trick-or-treaters on Saturday.
Goldsboro and Wayne County went even further, moving Halloween festivities up to Friday night.
Chapel Hill, which annually sees some 70,000 costumed revelers on its downtown streets for Halloween, will maintain its traditional Oct. 31 celebration, as will Raleigh, Wake Forest, Holly Springs and Rocky Mount.
For those who just can't make up their minds when to go out, officials in Cary, Durham, Hillsborough and Wilson said trick-or-treating can be done on either Saturday or Sunday.

Well I think some churchy people might find it in bad taste to trick or treat on Sunday....Just because it might seem a bit ironic, plus with school the next day. Sometimes I think people just simply need to chill and not make a big deal over stuff. Not you Char...just the people trying to change the date of trick or treating.

I was driving around the other day, and a church had a banner up for a party on Halloween. They were having a "Holy Ghost Weenie Roast".
I thought it was a cute idea! Besides, all Christians should celebrate on Halloween anyway (remember Martin Luther, Reformation Day, those Theses he nailed to that door???).

Wup, there's no reason to use inappropriate language here (the 'M' word).

Oh, that's right, you're a @uckeye grad aren't you Brent?
So is OSU going to do what the US gymnast is going to do and give back the fraudulently earned championship trophy? Surely Miami would like to have it back Brent.

Yes, John...Go Bucks!
You still upset about that game? Have a bag of Tostitos, you'll feel better. :-D

I'm not a Miami grad or fan....right is right Brent, wouldn't you agree?

Yes, John, and if I'm RIGHT, Maurice Clarett ran to the RIGHT and scored the winning touchdown for OSU. And if I'm RIGHT, Miami thought they had gotten away with PI and won the game, but they weren't RIGHT.
[Field Judge Terry]Porter said: "I saw the guy holding the guy prior to the ball being in the air. He was still holding him, pulling him down while the ball was in the air."
And I'm pretty sure that I'm RIGHT that sports arguments, like political ones, very rarely result in changed opinions, so let's get back to that guy who's the Halloween SOB. Maybe I'll give out Tostitos, now that I think of it...

Hey Brent, I just want to thank OSU for not having the grace to turn down an improperly "earned" national championship.....I said I'm not a Miami fan...I'm a Florida fan....I'm all about kicking Miami when they're down...;)
Besides, it's even better when Miami is right and they still loose....:)

Who's Grace, and what does she have to do with football?

So Brent, do you think that if I add some curacao liquor to my Everclear I could be belching blue flames of death at the little children tomorrow night?
Oh, my wife actually made a point of dragging me to Kmart last night while she bought a ton of candy...."Don't you think the little kids would like _brand X_ john?" ...."No Eileen, I think they'd love to be running from flaming balls of Alcohol vapor shot at them from the top of the sidewalk." She failed to see the inherent humor of it all and as usual has vetoed my idea.
Foiled again.

I'd just like to point out that we Trick-or-Treated at John's (well, his cube anyway), and he tried to give Jack (our son) candy.
Jack wouldn't have it.
Smart kid.
But it was a sweet offer  .

Halloween called off because it offends Wiccans......hahaha
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/world/10061759.htm
"The second official reason: ``We have been contacted by followers of the Wiccan religion, and they indicated they have been offended after seeing elementary school depictions of witches with long noses, warts, cauldrons and such,'' said Tony Apostle, the superintendent who banned Halloween."
