This is the holiday season folks (Christmas)! With all the downer issues being talked about (annexation, development fees, kids in jail), thought I throw in something happy.
Does anyone in your neighborhood have an interesting "Light Displays" that would be worth driving around and seeing?
In my da'hood we have a real great one: Harrison Avenue to Weston Parkway (Stop and get Ice Cream at Maggie Moo's). On Weston Pkwy, take a left onto Midenhall Road (da'Wessex enterance). On Midenhall Road take the first right onto to Bathgate Road. Take the 2nd right on Bathgate onto Willesden Road -- go to the end. :-D
Merry Christmas!

P.S. I have yet to see it on TV listings, but if you should see Mr.
Magoo's "A Christmas Carrol" please let me know.
PSS Thank Brent! Dyslexia sucks - that's why I can't be an accountant (ok, maybe at Arthur Anderson  )!

Come on people! Let's see some recommendations for a little drive around town and see some Christmas lights.
Some worthy of a visit are at:
West end of Melanie Drive.
Legault Dr and area
Streets off of Creek Park
Wessex
Merry Christmas

Wuptdo, we were in your 'hood last week (for luminaria, as you know), and we went back to finish one evening after dark and stopped by the home you note. Very cool lights (we loved the spinning Energizer Bunny!). Went back with the wife and other son Friday night and Santa was even out in the driveway.
Best in town, as far as I know, is the home off of Legault Drive, which is off of High House across from Prestonwood. Go down a few streets; it's at the end of the cul de sac on your left (don't remember the street name, but this truly is a case of "you can't miss it!").

Hey Brent,
Is it one where you need sunglasses? Are the lights so bright that you dare not stare at the Baby Jesus for more than a second or two else you flirt with retinal burning?

As I recall, this one has a LOT of lights, but it's also reasonably tasteful. I don't know if they've gotten any complaints from RDU or not.

Scaring planes off their flight path....
...a true sign that one has the holiday spirit.

Scaring planes off their flight path....
John, speaking of scaring planes off their flight path, remind me to tell you the one about the Scout bonfire at Oddfellows campsite a few years back...but I think I'm straying from the original post topic.

I'll do that...and I'll raise you the bonfire I had on the beach this past weekend. 8)

Today's Cary News has a smattering of local lighted home attractions on the front page of the Real Estate section.

A couple of my neighbors have these, heck I don't know what you call them...big blow up santa/snowman things. Must be 15 foot tall. That's gotta be against some rules.

I am told it's against the rules for businesses/commercial sites to have these inflatable decorations (don't know about residences). I say Frantz Auto needs a couple of these, all lit up to boot. What do you think?

How about if we just spray paint a "Frantz Automotive" logo on some of them already deployed around Cary???
