Did that go into the Old Shucker's Eatery?

I didn't realize it was open already...seemed like it was being renovated for the longest time. I do miss the old Shuckers...that place was great.

Just curious how expensive this new restaurant is. I've driven by it a few times and so far it's looked pretty busy.

Took awhile to find info on this place. Had to find it in the "enemy of the people's" (Cary Chamber of Commence) website. However, they are only open for Dinner.
Phone number for reservations is: 467-0308

It is located in the old Shuckers, and prices are around 15 to 25. They are open for Sunday brunch also. I am going to try that today. I've been three times now, and have been very pleased each time. Nice to go somewhere you don't have to fight traffic.

Took Mrs. Wup here this evening instead of Stonewood. Had a really great dinner for two special for $20 and multiple choice food items. I believe the special is only temporary, but it was an excellent value and included a glass of wine to boot. However, Mrs. Wup has a thing for crapcakes, so we order on of those as well. It was a good portion and had some extra salad and salsa on the side. Wonderful presentation and great taste, on par with Baxter's  crapcakes, but Chef John's crapcakes are still the best in her book.
This is not a cafe'. This is fine dining, with a down home spin. A well sorted menu with something for everybody. I would place as the same category (for food service & price) as Stonewood, Bonefish or Copeland's. We sampled several menu choices and were very happy with our selections.
Excellent food presentation.
This is a not a very large eatery, so I suggest reservations if your party is larger than four. The wait staff was a little slow, but I understand someone was missing, so everyone was working real hard to make our meal very enjoyable (manager was serving and hostess was pouring water).
I like it when the manager is not afraid to get their hands dirty and help out in either the kitchen or floor.
My only complaint was the wine pours. I can understand a 1/6 pour on a freebie wine included with the meal, but we ordered an additional glass and it was still a 1/6+ pour for $6. At the above mentioned places, you would receive a 1/4 pour for about the same price.
Since they serve "Shrimp & grits," I will return in a few weeks, to finalize this review.
At this point, I would have no problem bringing my in-laws here for dinner. :D

Try the lobster bisque - the best in the area. The crab cake was very good. Understand that wine is inexpensive on weekday evenings.

We hit the place this past weekend. Very good food. I'm not much of a wine afficianado, it's okay and while I find a lot of pleasantly drinkable wines I have no recall whatsoever of the type, vintage, winery name, or specific wine name I may have just drank. I don't care really. By pure luck I ordered some very good wine and had an excellent steak. My wife thought the Carolina shrimp was superb.
Even though the waitress laughed at me for eating "faster than anyone she's ever seen", she was a very pleasant/wonderful. I had to explain to her that I am still a growing boy.
Great place, great food. I highly recommend it.
But it's still not as good as Smithfield Barbeque or King's Barbeque in Kinston.

Southern Star has an early bird special ( before 6PM except on Friday and Saturday).
$30 for two including soup or salad, dessert and wine. The selection of entrees is limted. Great value.

Stan,
Did you catch that one painting in the far corner of the place????
I guessed it was either a bad painter or a very ugly woman in a red dress.
My wife suggested it wasn't a woman.
I have no idea what it was supposed to be but he/she/it had a very mean look on his/her/its face.
