It's more than slightly amusing to label someone pretentious for effectively saying, "hey, I'm not trying to be pretentious." I don't know of another candidate more unwilling to compromise his or her values than he - and he strikes me as the type of person that is, perhaps to a fault, indifferent to how his opinions are received.
