Zelly and Ritz - crazy name but great food - tapas format but not Spanish, rather eclectic gourmet. We had a mini rack of lamb ($11.95 for four small sesame coated chops), liitle necks with chorizo in a spicy broth, spinach and feta patry, risotto with lobster claws and carmelized pine nut tart with honey ice cream - all delicious. Sounds like a lot but the dishes are small. Great selection of wine, reasonbly priced plus good service. Total bill with three glasses of wine - $72 w/o tip. Reservations definitely required
301 S. Glenwood next to Sushi Blues in the booming, hip, high-energy, S. Glenwwod district. Richard Florida would love the district but it is to untidy and sort of bohemian for the tastes of Cary's planners, e.g. no municipal parking decks, special streetscape treatments or mixed use developments or artsy-fartsy parks. No chain restaurants to be found. No trace of the new urbanism. Many of the clubs and restaurants are in restored, former warehouses. This is downtown redevelopment without the bulldozers and huge investtments in infrastructure. This is the liveliest district nearby with a primarily young crowd - very busy and full of energy. If you haven't been to S. Glenwood suggest you visit. Vin, Bogarts, Nana's Grill, 509 and the chinese restaurant next to Sushi Blues are all good choices.
