Our own Brent Miller graces the LTE as does Darryl. Hook 'em Jack is in there as well. Impact fees have made a significant impact on the readers of the Cary News. Mike Joyce states he will not seek another term in 4 years.

The Cary News
Cary, NC
The Editor of “Your Opinions!”:
I imagine that the champagne & caviar was flowing freely at the Cardinal Club last Thursday evening. Another great victory was won again by the real “powers that be” in Wake County. Cary’s new Mayor and the entire Town Council voted to reduce developers’ fees by 30%. Several weeks ago the editorial staff at the N&O mentioned that other cities and towns in Wake County would be wise to raise their impact fees to match Cary’s. Last Tuesday, Morrisville’s Town Council did just that! Bravo!
Cary Town Council member Jennifer Robinson is quoted: “I hope citizens will feel a comfort level with this knowing that the council and the staff are looking out for the best interests of citizens when we are coming down on the fees.” Let me put my waders on. This is almost the same line that the Wake Country Commissioners used to justify voting for the special financing for the new Raleigh Convention Center. This stinks, just like the North Cary Waste Water Treatment plant. The only people that benefit from the reduction of fees are developers and builders. Oh well, the rich get richer, again.
Once again, citizens in Cary will get to subsidize builders and developers. Thank you very much Mr. Mayor and Town Council for selling out the citizens of Cary! I wonder if Cary has a “recall” mechanism in the Town charter. CelebrateCary!, whoops cross that out, CelebrateMorrisville!
FYI - asked Brent's permission prior to using his trademark "CelebrateMorriseville."

No, Wuptdo, I disagree -- your letter was better and much more enjoyable than mine -- it is EXCELLENT. Maybe they just ran out of space this week because of all of us verbose writers (including Jack...didn't know he could type that much! :D ). I hope to see your letter published.
I thought Darryl's letter was awful.
Michael Joyce also hinted that he might instead run for higher office. I suppose the GOP will need someone to follow Bush in 4 years... :lol:
WOW!!!!!! Who says this town is boring huh?
Even Adam's ride home was interesting. How come
Adam was passing everyone? :wink:
Woo Hoo!, Joyce for president in 08! 8O

Here is some food for thought (looking in glass ball):
Miss Julie give up her seat on the CTC and runs for School Board;
Big Mike Joyce, does his four years and runs for County Commish and,
if and only if, his Lordship David Price decides to retire, then Congress!
Mr. Nels for run for State Rep and Ms. Jenny will try for State Sen.
I will get a job at the new Lowe's in the tool shack (yeah!) =P~
Mr. Lang decides to run for one of the open seats on the School Board;
I see Jess Ward coming back as.........
the image is fading
Stranger things have happened 8O
