I was advised by a good friend to check this place out. I had the opportunity today to do so (plus there was parking on the street). What I was expecting was a typical small downtown Southern eatery with down home food. Given the location, being a former appliance shop for many years, I was also expecting a little more “gritty.” Well to my surprise, the place was completely remodeled and spotless. A rich food aroma was in the air and I was ready to eat. The walls were covered with art work from local artist and there were other “works” in the window, very tasteful. I had a wonderful lunch at an agreeable price and the sweet tea was not overly sweet.
They have a full breakfast menu covering all the basics with many pleasant surprises. Andreas Spanish Omelet looks great and I think the kids will like the Cinnamon & Brown Sugar French Toast or Shelby’s Belgian Waffles. Sort of reminds me of some breakfast places in resort towns. The lunch menu provides a full range of choices that would be agreeable to any palate. Crabmeat Bruschetta or Egg salad Croissant to name a few. I do believe that a Mr. Oliver review is necessary to truly acknowledge this wonderful eatery.
I know I will be going back. They have “Carolina Shrimp & Grits” on the menu! :-D
