This old standby on Jones St., just off South Glenwood, has gotten better over the years. Had a 1 1/2 lb. boiled lobster there tonight - almost as good as in Cape Cd two weeks ago. Marcia like the soft shell crabs and she had to keep hitting my hand to get me out of the frshly prepared hush puppies. The cole slaw was great. That is such a simple dish yet so many restaurants don't get it right. The seafood bisque was delicious - very rich so that even a cup will fill you up.
There is an extensive selection of fairly priced beers and wines. The sevice is efficient and unobtrusive. The waitress didn't even tell me her name. The place is huge and was really hopping on a Sunday night. Lots of families. This place is a Raleigh tradition.
The atmoshphere is old fashioned fish house/warehouse with stuffed fish on th wall - no modern art or fancy food.
$66 without the tip including two glasses of wine, lobster, two crabs, cole slaw and coffee. Well worth every penny. We keep going back.
