So, Fauxcohontas, Democratic Senate candidate in Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, is in trouble. She lied, lied, lied, lied, lied, about being an American Indian. She isn't.

But it gets worse, her great-great-great grandfather was a Tennessee militia member who helped round up the Cherokee and ship them out of the state to the Indian Territory, aka Oklahoma.
The Democratic race for lieutenant governor...

http://www.newsobserver.com/2012/05/...#storylink=cpy

The Democratic race for lieutenant governor started late, opened by incumbent Walter Dalton’s bid to replace Gov. Bev Perdue, who decided not to run again at the 11th hour.
Coleman’s campaign raised limited campaign cash and used a mostly volunteer staff but received a huge boost from the state employees association and an affiliated union, which spent $300,000 to buy yard signs, television advertising and polling.

“It’s been a very short sprint for all of us in this Democratic campaign because of the short time we had ... to run a campaign that generally takes a year,” said Coleman, a former state lawmaker from Knightdale.

Mansfield, a freshman lawmaker who waged a campaign against politics as usual, raised concerns about the special interest spending, suggesting Coleman “outsourced” her campaign. He raised $231,000, including a $70,000 personal loan, but failed to gain traction in the polls.

Coleman attacked him early, questioning his Democratic allegiances by noting a long-ago small contribution to Republican Elizabeth Dole and his vote with the Republican Senate majority to limit damages in some medical malpractice lawsuits.

Carrboro voter Martrina Marrow said she didn’t know much about races further down the ballot. But she knew her pick: “I heard Linda Coleman speak. I knew that I wanted her.”

======================

So Linda is functionally a tool for the SEIU/AFSCME and the NC State Employees Association. One that is intolerant of Democrats voting with Republicans on bipartisan legislation.

Okay, this individual is not someone who would ever "work with" or compromise or otherwise pretend that people that disagree with her could do so for honorable reasons. No, each of the two parties is becoming more intolerant of working with the members of the other party. One party is blunt and out in the open about that, the GOOP'ers, the other party is no different, except they are wiling to lie about how intolerant of cooperating with the other party they really are.

What a bunch of frauds, crackpots, and just flat out awful candidates we have on the ballot.

> Walter Dalton has a 5-point lead over Bobby Etheridge for the Democrat nomination for Governor.

Seriously? There are two mysteries here:

1-} has anyone ever heard of or met Walter Dalton? He's not even a real person for Pete's sake!
2-} What are the odds he beats Etheridge tomorrow and DOES NOT get assault by Etheridge tomorrow for having beaten him?

The NandO makes the allegation that Linda Coleman holds a wide lead in the Democratic lieutenant governor’s race. This will end well for the Donkey's. She's about as far out on the leftwing extreme as she can get. Nominate her and the GOOP'er LTG nominee wins. Guarranteed. Don't believe me? Ask the dishes. Great, now I'm quoting a make believe character from a Disney movie. No! Not Walter Dalton!

The GOOP'ers have a problem. They don't have any make believe characters running for LTG. Their characters are all real and really, really not likeable. That's not true. It's just Tony Gurley that isn't likeable. That's because he's short. And because he's a RINO.

Sadly, Kenn Gardner is leading the GOP contest for secretary of state. I remember some shadiness about ol' Kenn and the Aquatics Palace proposed for Cary.

See, this is troubling. If the GOOP'ers would nominate _not icky_ people they'd sweep the Donkey's from power because the Donkey's can't help but nominate political extremists. It's what they do.

Thanks to Linda Coleman the GOOP'ers have a lock on the LTG seat. Unless Gurley is the nominee. Gardner will guaranttee that this independent voter won't vote straight Republican.

So here I sit watching CaryTV, the biennial survey episode.

Don, Jennifer, don't quit your day jobs. 10 minutes into it I wanted to shove my coffee mug through my skull.

First, who took this survey? The city has no role in managing the school system and people that cited that as a concern for the city should have their survey responses thrown out.

Second, that only 21% of people in Cary know to NOT put cooking oil down the drain is disappointing. Especially after Jennifer cited the high rate of college graduates in the overall city population.

Third, no more jokes about nuclear waste. For the love of God, please no more.

Fourth, that NCDOT drive green thing, was pure awful. Just seeing it makes me want to pour used motor oil down a storm drain.

Fifth, May 28th is NOT to "remember the women and men that protect America". It is a public, civil memorial service in rememberance of the men who died in combat. It is not "Veterans Day" that is in November. Memorial Day should be somber. It should not be a party. It is not for me (a living soldier) or any living veteran nor any veteran who died of non-combat causes. This may sound minor, but it is shocking how wide the disconnect between the military and the civilian population in this country has gotten. There once was a time when almost every healthy man was veteran, not so anymore.

“I tried to negotiate with the Town in a gentlemanly way, and it didn’t get me anywhere,” said Mr. Bowden. “I decided that the only way that I was going to get any attention was to put up a sign. Now the Town is trying to violate my civil rights by telling me that I can’t speak to power.”

http://www.newsobserver.com/2012/01/...sues-town.html

Lower courts ruled in favor of the builders, and the N.C. Supreme Court split on the issue last year, leaving the town and its insurance company to pay more than $800,000.
Attorney Bill Brian of K&L Gates has been a key litigator for plaintiffs in both the recently settled and recently opened lawsuit. But at least two factors distinguish the lawsuits from one another.
While the Amward suit was about a zoning condition, the new case involves a developer agreement, a contract signed by both the plaintiffs and the town. Secondly, there's the money.
Cary never spent the money at the center of the first lawsuit. But the money now at issue was supposedly used years ago to build an elementary school. Panther Creek gave $500,000 to the town in 2001 and $5.5 million to the school board in 2007. Mills Park Elementary School opened in 2008.

“We are protecting our right to have a sign ordinance,” wrote Mayor Harold Weinbrecht in an email this week.

TRANSLATION: "We are protecting the right of Glen Lang, myself, and our successors to defectate on the First Amendment."

"So far, the town has spent about $258,000 defending itself in the case, a sum it will pay win or lose. The town’s insurance will cover some further costs, but will not pay the bill for a First Amendment specialist, which may continue to rise."

We keep spending more and more money defending the indefensible. Thanks Harold!!!!

A long time ago I wrote this:

My theory: there are three camps here on CP.

1-The realists. Among the regulars that everyone from Libertarians to GOP'ers and a few conservative/moderate/sober Donkeys.

2-The Aluminum Foil Helmet Brigade. Aka, the Kooks. If you think the President is 'just as bad as Hitler', or Halliburton is the font for evil in the modern world, or that Howard Dean is reasonable, you're a flaming kook. You're also in the mainstream of the Donkeycrat Party.

3-The Crayon Fighters. Insanely naive. The type that believes if we all join hands and sing Kumbaya loud enough they can smash any disagreements because the Crayon Fighters know that they/good always wins and anyone that doesn't agree with them has only NOT listened to their simplistic parody of logic long enough. Most soccer mommys are crayon fighters.

The problem here is the majority of the voters are in camps 2 and 3.

=======================================

I believe I was right, but not complete.

1 The realists
2 The kooks
3 The naive
4 The corrupt

4 loves 3, uses 3 to gain/maintain political power. Sees 2 as irrelevant. Abhors 1 but uses 3 to block 1.

3 is always willing to split the difference between 4 and 1. 3 will generally pretend 2 is the equivalent of 1, and 3 will also ignore the truth of 4 until it is too late. 3 assumes that because A exists and B exists there is absolute moral equivalency between them.

2 will ally with anyone that will give any credence or legitimacy to his/her crackpot theories. 2 is uncomfortable dealing with 1 and must resort to weaving 1 into a conspiracy theory to explain 1's refusal to accept the initial conspiracy theory. 2 recognizes 4 but grafts them into insane plots making it easy for 4 to laugh it off while giving 3 an excuse to continue to ignore what 4 is.

1 Sees 2 as more or less harmless crackpots. Irritating when interrupting sober conversation but not significant generally. 1 sees 4 for what 4 is and is the only category that has the capacity to do so. 3 is the most vicious enemy of 1. 3 cannot tolerate the cold, objective stance because it forces 3 to pick a side and 3 sees picking a side as the ultimate sin.

Individuals may shift depending on the topic, but overall we are all defined by our primary character traits.

Type 1 - JohnB
Type 2 - The Aluminum Foil Helmet Brigade
Type 3 - The Crayon Fighters/Soccer Moms
Type 4 - Glen Lang

Now this was a bit surprising....

Once at odds over growth in Cary, Goodnight, Lang now teamed up
Triangle Business Journal - January 26, 2007
by Leo John

CARY - When he left office as mayor of Cary in 2003, Glen Lang saw the future - and quickly prepared to face it.

Lang, who as mayor drew the wrath of developers for his anti-sprawl stances, is now partnering with the same folks to stream Internet connections into high-tech homes.

Making peace with builders has been fruitful for Lang's 4-year-old company, now called Connexion Technologies, which installs optical fibers at housing developments and then leases out capacity to Internet, cable TV and phone service providers.

As ironies go, here's another: SAS founder and CEO Jim Goodnight, once a Lang archrival for his stance on growth, has turned supporter. Goodnight, through his real estate investment firm, Reedy Creek Investments, is one of several investors bankrolling Lang's company. SAS co-founder and Executive Vice President John Sall also is a co-founder of Reedy Creek.

So, what does the master entrepreneur Goodnight think of Connexion's growth? Representatives of SAS said there would be no comment from Goodnight.

As for Lang, he says: "Dr. Goodnight, not Dr. Goodnight himself - Reedy Creek Investments - his company, has been extremely helpful." As for his earlier rivalry with the SAS co-founder, Lang will say only," We have a business relationship, and it hasn't come up."

Lang says Reedy Creek and several individuals are invested in the company. He won't disclose how much the company has raised, but a January 2003 securities filing by Lang shows the company was aiming to raise $1 million from investors.

And the investments appear to be good bets so far. Connexion has grown to 200 employees from just a handful four years ago. The company, previously named Capitol Broadband, expects to end 2007 with 200,000 connected homes at 90 housing developments. At the end of 2006, Connexion's cable wired 40 developments.

Lang won't say how much Connexion generates in revenue, but growing demand for cable TV, phone and broadband Internet service means the company probably will find a ready market.

"It's not a part of the (telecom) business that generates a lot of news," says Jeff Kagan, an independent industry analyst in Atlanta. "But, increasingly, there's plenty of demand because new forms of technologies require a lot of bandwidth."

True to form, Lang says Connexion is the largest company of its kind in the country. Yet, he points out, "We're tiny in comparison to Time Warner." Lang expects to organically grow his company by less than 100 employees in the next year.

Connexion's clients, spread over the Southeast with about 70 percent of them in Florida, are builders establishing new housing developments that need spiffy telecom connections.

Research has shown that new home buyers are willing to pay an additional $5,000 for homes equipped with broad Internet pipes, says Joe Savage, president of the Fiber-to-the-Home Council, an industry trade group.

To further entice builders, Connexion divvies up residents' monthly subscription revenue with developers, delivering an annuity stream to builders long after the homes have been sold. Connexion does not provide any of the services. It just contracts broadband capacity out to local providers.

"Glen is doing a fantastic job," says David Falk Jr., co-owner of apartment management company Drucker & Falk and a Connexion shareholder. "They have figured out a niche that developers are attracted to."

Legislation passed in 2006 in North Carolina allows video providers to obtain one statewide franchise instead of separate county approvals - thus easing the way for new entrants. Lang says his company may seek such a license.

There is a reason I disappeared from CP for the past 5 years.

It involves a child, a corrupt District Attorney, two drunken drug addicts, a lot of lawyers, two absolutely pointless and worthless CPS departments (Wake County and Granville County), city police department that had the best of intentions but had it's hands tied, a county sheriff's office defined by it's incompetence, and my wife and I.

I may write a book, I may just be content to serialize the affair here. It's all over now and the writing may be cathartic. What it has done, however, is confirm to me that anyone who think the criminal justice system is anything other than a pathetic joke is a fool. The system is engineered to protect the perpetrators of crime from ever facing the consequences of their actions. The only people ever found guilty are those too dumb to know when to lie and those dumb enough to commit crimes so brazen, so obvious, and so publically that the DA cannot help but indict.

I don't know why honest cops keep going to work. Their efforts, their labors are almost always thrown away by incompetent DA's and Judges who seem to think that because they have a gavel they can change human nature.

Several lessons I learned:

1- the partisan affiliation of the Judges is no indicator of that judges competence.

2- the only lawyers who go to work for the DA's office are the ones to dumb or to incompetent to get a job with a firm, a corporation, or start their own practice. The DA's office is populated solely by the boot scrappings of law school grads.

3- Colon Willoughby is corrupt. He is so afraid of offending Interact that he will not prosecute a woman for child abuse unless there is a body in the morgue or enough publicity to compel him to indict. In either case, any prosecution he mounts will be feeble and designed to loose.

"Oh John, you don't understand, you don't get it, you're don't like him because you didn't get your way!"

I have a grandchild who has scar tissue on his brain. His mother tried to strangle/garrot him while he was on visitation with her and she left ligature marks cut into his neck. He was neglected and left alone, in the dark for 12-14 hours at a time the first 11 months of his life. He is cognitively impaired/mentally retarded because of, solely because of her alcohol/drug use while pregnant and her negligent care his first 11 months post birth. Our last Civil Court order includes the phrase "negligent, incompetent, and dangerous" in describing her conduct towards this baby.

Colon Willoughby is either evil or incompetent. The most irritating fact about this matter is that the GOOP'ers couldn't find a trained monkey with an honorary law degree to run against him. If it's a question of integrity or competence, the monkey wins.

My grandson's parents belong in cages at Central Prison, one on each side of Colon Willoughby. I do hope what happened to my grandson happens to his grandchildren.

There will be more, much more. Stay tuned.

Dear Cary Politics,

I went away for 5 years...had something come up......am back now and this place is quiet. Not sure what happened but it was never like this before.

As Kermit sings in the movie "The Muppets"

KERMIT
Is there more I could have said?
Now they’re only pictures in my head.
That’s why my green is feeling grey
Sometimes even frogs have rainy days.
Remember when the stage caved in when you were rocking out?
Who’d have thought your smorgasbord would be hard to live without?
If we could do it all again, just another chance to entertain
Would anybody watch or even care?
Or did something break we cant repair?
Your cannonball trajectory, it always gave me hope.
They may have been unbearable but I still loved your jokes
Is there more I could have said?
Now they’re only pictures in my head.
[Musical Interlude]

ALL
Could we do it all again, make them laugh like we did then?
We could harmonise for one more song,

KERMIT
But I’m standing here instead.
Now they’re only pictures in my head

Just, no one, tell Dharma and the Dingbats I'm back.
